More hat conversation? Why? Well, because frankly, you gotta choose a few and commit. That’s your problem, you never commit to anything. But we digress. We talk about choosing a few roles to hone in on and focus all your effort towards in order to actually improve your capabilities in that area. The hats are a metaphor, but we just really wanted to say “Wearing Sombreros is a character building exercise.”

Du-rags, fedoras, sombreros,… what do all of these things have in common? They are hats. You put them on your head. Much like hats, you play many different roles as an independent freelance creative/business owner. We could have used skin as the metaphor, but that just sounds weird, and strangely fetish-like.
