    Wait, you don't want kids?

    Wait, you don't want kids?

We know personally that caregiving isn't solely the responsibility of the women.  But if you make the decision to be a caregiver as a woman you are often overlooked in the workplace for the time you have taken to be with your family. We know that this is ultimately incorrect as the skills gained as a mother are those of leadership, and are sorely needed in places of work.

It shouldn't be a zero-sum game. As of now, it's somewhat a "doomed if you do, doomed if you don't" scenario. In the end, motherhood and caregiving is a far more complex topic than we have been led to believe. And should never be a flippant; Do you not want kids?

Can our social media presence exist without boundaries?

Can our social media presence exist without boundaries?

From 2016 to 2021, we experienced a digital presence that amplified and normalised troll-like behaviour from a democratically elected world leader.  We discuss the impact and the role social media companies can and should have in restricting such content. As well as our roles as content creators and users.

In 2021, we are experiencing what it feels like to be online after Trump has been deplatformed. But we also know that this game of whack-a-mole is not a long-term viable solution. We close out this episode with an open-ended question. What is the solution to content moderation? Some suggestions include AI and stronger regulatory bodies but ultimately we need to bring all stakeholders to the table to ensure a safer online experience for all.

Mental health is not a taboo

Mental health is not a taboo

We know that social media has a reinforcing nature that can go either way. It can either bring people together by breaking down the taboos and opening up the conversation, but it can also be addictive which is often associated with anxiety and depression. In this episode, we focus on the awareness, community and how social media platforms enable people to have a lower threshold to enter the conversation on topics like this.

Tune in next week for the following to this conversation where we talk about the biggest troll of them all - Donald Trump.

Where the fuck's my fucking train?

Where the fuck's my fucking train?

In this conversation, Toni and Sorcha discuss the role of public transit in cities as we try to move beyond the pandemic. Unlike Europe public transport in America is a highly politicized and debate topic spanning across political values impacting those that most need access to the service.

Can a co-working company build community?

Can a co-working company build community?

In this episode, we discuss the merit of a co-working space building community within the tech space. The addition of the community felt like a natural evolution to the likes of companies that came before, such as Regus, as both founders grew up in communes.

We also examine what it looks like when women attempt to adapt this existing business model to their own needs, Toni shares her experience as a former Wing member. We know women are held to a higher standard, which also means that the failures are exponentially felt.

The Wing's failure is the latest addition to a plethora of women-led companies being canceled (whether rightly so or not). What does this mean for companies led by women in the future?

Why women need to justify their presence online.

Why women need to justify their presence online.

In this episode, Toni shares her experience and desire to create content that evokes dialogue and debate on a platform that has a beauty algorithm. We explore why these algorithms exist and how they impact women and the content they create. Sorcha and Toni reflect on their own experience with bias and how these algorithms transcend from offline to offline.

As Trump exits, so does Britain

In this episode, we also draw parallels between Trump winning the 2016 US elections and the Brexit Leave vote. Here we are at the end of 2020 as both Trump and the United Kingdom are exiting in their own ways and we reflect on the unknown consequences of these events.
