We throw ourselves back 17 years (crazy, we know) to 2002, a lawless gaming wasteland, then GTA III ruled the world, early 00's nu metal was all the rage, and that time Tony skipped his sophomore biology final to go buy Metallica's "St. Anger" (He would have just rather taken the final). Starcraft Ghost was also apparently a thing? Soak yourself in nostalgia bliss in the newest episode of the WHG podcast!

We share our thoughts on Dauntless, the new Monster Hunter lite, created by Epic Games, and Eric has surprisingly little to say about it. As only 2 members of the WHG crew have experienced it, we wildly speculate about the future of the game!

In a bizarre turn of events, 22 years after the release of the original, Tony FINALLY plays (and streams) the modded PC version of FF VII. Spoiler alert, he loves it! Eric loses himself in the still (for some reason) massively multiplayer game World of Warcraft, to which he is pleasantly surprised. We've officially lost Kelly since Days Gone has released. Dave's not far behind, and Tony doesn't really understand what's happening. Suffice it to say it's business as usual in the WHG camp. Eric's descent into classic game randomization hell takes a serious turn for the worst, but for the resident retro streamer, he's used to masochism on tons of different levels. There's also some news that nobody's interested in (ESO: Elswyr and Elder Scrolls Blades?.....no? We didn't think so.) After taking a short siesta, and frequenting the Bangor Comic and Toy Con 2019, we're back with episode 11 of the Winterhouse Gaming Podcast! We cover the rumors surrounding the PS5 announcement, Borderlands GOTY, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and all the newest releases coming up this year. It's also worth noting that we have clearly abandoned all hope, much like Square-Enix has, of ever finally seeing Final Fantasy VII remade. It's life, and it happens. Two weeks after release, we've got all details on FromSoftware's latest release. We discuss the immaculate attention to detail, the crushing difficulty, and the gameplay mechanics are put under a microscope. Is it TOO hard? Dave certainly seems to think so, but he's immersed himself in his newest obsession, Generation Zero! Last, but CERTAINLY not least,  almost a 5 year wait, Borderlands 3 gets announced, along with a remaster of the original! Find out more after the jump!

Google has unleashed what seems to be the ultimate gaming platform, named "Stadia" which apparently seems to be cloud-based, accessible on any internet platform that supports Chrome, or is Google oriented. We discuss a controversial opinion of whether every single game should include an "easy" mode. Yes, even Dark Souls. We also Take a dive into the inner working of the Winterhouse Streaming Platform, and start talking Content Creation. It's not all glamour, glory, and tons of viewers. In reality, we have none of those! The fatigue is real here, folks! EA Paid Ninja a cool $1M to play Apex, and The Switch seems to become more and more of a porting machine.  Find out the details here!

We don't like to  comment on rumors. We love it. So imagine our elation when we learned about A possible buy-out of Take-Two by Sony, A L4D-inspired title "Back 4 Blood", and the possibility of MORE Steam Link, something nobody wanted.

The WinterHouse Gaming Crew cycles through some of the rumors regarding Anthem refunds, loot drop rate changes, and exactly how much gamers are willing to deal with, when it comes to Electronic Arts. Tony and Dave are terrified of the Sonic the Hedgehog movie, and big changes have come for Playstation Plus members. More content after the jump!

Anthem has officially dropped, and as of this recording, only Dave had been able to experience the full game, as Kelly and Tony, in all their shame, had to go to work. Are the less-than-stellar reviews accurate? Does the game live up to the hype? You'll have to find out for yourselves, by listening in!

After it's all said and done, we are not impressed by Nintendo's showcasing of "new" titles for its latest handheld/console hybrid. Relying on pure nostalgia with a remake of "Link's Awakening", Final Fantasy ports, and probably a Star Fox title or something, there was much left to be desired from what was once a consistently amazing company. No Animal Crossing? No 3DS titles, after they forced so many new iterations of the system on us? Luckily we have have Metro Exodus and Far Cry: New Dawn to fill the gaming void! Listen to us gush about it all!

The Impossible has happened. Apex Legends, the new Battle Royale FPS, is something that Kelly, David, and Tony can all get behind, and enjoy it! In other news, Microsoft is bring XBOX Live to Nintendo consoles, and the results are in on the Anthem Beta, and Resident Evil 2. Hear more after the jump!

Fans of Anthem will be distraught to know that the game will not run native 4K or at 60 FPS as previously promised. Luckily  the demo was so good, we'll soon forget all about it. Dave and Tony strike an accord, and apparently people like read reviews about super old video games. Haven't they already played those? What's the point? Join us and occasional co-host Emily P. as we tackle the tough questions that nobody asked!

For what seems like an eternity, Dave is trapped in the bowels (see what we did there?) of he latrine for what can only be described as "a ride with the Devil". Leaving Tony and Kelly to their own devices, we start complaining a lot about the news. The PS vita got an update for some reason, and Tony reflects on his streams of Catherine, and the Resident Evil 2 One-shot demo.
