WrestleMania III - WHS Super Show

WrestleMania III - WHS Super Show

WrestleMania III remains one of the biggest spectacles in all of pro wrestling (and sports entertainment). But beyond the matches that everyone remembers and talks about (specifically, Macho Man versus Ricky Steamboat and Hulk Hogan versus Andre the Giant), is the whole show worth going back to watch?

Listen as Joey and Chris break down every single match on Wrestlemania III, which took place on March 29, 1987 in Pontiac, Michigan!

Saturday Night's Main Event 10 - WHS Super Show

Saturday Night's Main Event 10 - WHS Super Show

Taking place in Detroit, Michigan and airing just over two weeks before the legendary Wrestlemania III, this edition of WWF (WWE) Saturday Night's Main Event builds up a few of the upcoming matches well while others are left out. Most of the buildup for the big show is contained within a big battle royal, but that doesn't necessarily mean the show is a bust. "Macho Man" Randy Savage takes on George "The Animal" Steele for the Intercontinental Title and the company of Miss Elizabeth, and tribute is paid to "Rowdy" Roddy Piper before his retirement match. Hear all about that plus The Hart Foundation vs. Tito Santana & Dan Spivey, King Kong Bundy vs. Jake Roberts, and Ricky Steamboat vs. The Iron Sheik in this episode of the Wrestling House Show Super Show!

Saturday Night's Main Event 9 - WHS Super Show

Saturday Night's Main Event 9 - WHS Super Show

This edition of Saturday Night's Main Event positions itself as something of a setup for one of the greatest super shows of all time, Wrestlemania III. Unfortunately, even with Hogan versus Orndorff in a steel cage, "Macho Man" Randy Savage battling George "The Animal" Steele, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper in a grudge match with Adrian Adonis, and the Junkyard Dog refusing to bow to Harley Race, the show ended up being less than great. Starrcade 1986 - WHS Super Show

Though the show's subtitle (The Skywalkers) is a reference to the infamous scaffold match between The Road Warriors and The Midnight Express, was that the match most worth remembering? Find out by listening to the latest Wrestling House Show Super Show retro review as we talk about every match on NWA's Starrcade 1986 including Ric Flair vs Nikita Koloff for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship, The Rock 'n' Roll Express vs The Minnesota Wrecking Crew in a cage for the NWA World Tag Team Championships, a First Blood match between Tully Blanchard and Dusty Rhodes for the NWA World TV Championship, an Indian Strap match between Rick Rude and Wahoo McDaniel, and lots more!

Jake Roberts and Ricky Steamboat fought with animals, the Dream Team challenged the British Bulldogs for the WWF Tag Titles, Kamala squashed Lanny Poffo, Roddy Piper face The Iron Sheik, and Paul Orndorff challenged Hulk Hogan for the WWF Title in a Saturday Night's Main Event that sounds like a lot of fun, but did the actual action live up to the show's potential. The Big Event (August 28, 1986) - WHS Super Show

The Big Event (August 28, 1986) - WHS Super Show

Originally a house show that was later released as WWF Coliseum home video, The Big Event took place at Exhibition Stadium in Toronto, Canada on August 28, 1986. With Junkyard Dog vs Adrian Adonis, Jake Roberts vs Ricky Steamboat, and Hulk Hogan vs Paul Orndorff as just a few of the show's big matches, and a live crowd of over 60,000 people (or 70,000 depending on who's counting), the show definitely had potential. But did it it live up to expectations? Find out in the Wrestling House Show's latest retro review!

Airing on May 6th, 1986, less than a month after WrestleMania 2, the British Bulldogs defended their newly-won tag titles against Nikolai Volkoff and The Iron Sheik, Adrian Adonis really wanted to wrestle Paul Orndorff, and Hulk Hogan teamed with The Junkyard Dog to take on the Funk brothers. With all of those matches plus Jake "The Snake" Roberts versus Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat, this has to be one of the greatest Saturday Night's Main Events of all time, right? Right?! But with the show taking place in two cities, and with special stipulations being thrown around a bit too freely in its many matches, is the third annual NWA Starrcade worth watching in its entirety? Find out as we discuss every match, letting you know exactly what needs to be seen in the latest WHS Super Show retro review!
