What Should I Do with My Life and Future?

What Should I Do with My Life and Future?
This week's question comes from a teenager who feels depressed ever since graduating from high school. This teen feels like there's little hope for the future, and thus is not eating and feels the urge to start cutting. What should he/she do? We do our best to answer this question from several different angles: the underlying root problem that might be causing these symptoms, the truth of what God thinks about us, and how to go about determining what job and career might work best for us. We all need direction and a future in our lives. We recommend some books to help you figure out what job or career you would be passionate about and how to "turn your play into your work so you never have to work another day in your life." 48 Days to the Work You Love: http://stumin.org/rPoCny No More Mondays: http://stumin.org/u1Ys12 SUBSCRIBE TO OUR WEEKLY VIDEOS! http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=youthquestions YOUTH WORKERS IN THIS VIDEO George - http://www.youtube.com/zackcor Ruth - http://www.youtube.com/ruthevlog Tim - http://www.youtube.com/godrox Youth Questions posts a new video every week answering real questions from real teens about real life. This person sees little shops and vending machines everywhere around campus and is constantly tempted to eat that food even tough it has so many negative affects on them. Trying to be friends with my ex-girlfriend
This week's Youth Questions video is different than what we usually do. While most of our videos provide answers, advice, and input from youth workers, parents, adults, and teenagers, this week I don't have time to pull off a normal video. I'm just way too swamped with trying to get my second book completed and sent off to the publisher and other work. So, instead, I'll share with you all one of the questions that was submitted and ask you guys to answer it instead! Give your best advice, help, and input for this teenager who broke up with his girlfriend but still wants to remain friends with her. How does he do it, even after she calls him names? Is it even possible in the first place? Share your stories with us as a comment or, better yet, as a video response! Will romance novels affect my future marriage?

Will romance novels affect my future marriage?
Someone asks us if reading romance novels will affect her future marriage and bother her future husband. We answer the question and address the expectations that it sets up for girls to have of guys, romance, and relationships, whether you're married or dating. Soap Operas fall into this same category of women entering into fantasies about relationships, emotions, and men similarly to how men enter into unfair comparisons and fantasies about women sexually in pornography. Romance novels, soap operas, and porn all have similar affects on relationships, expectations, comparisons of the opposite sex, and a twisted view on each other. These youth workers answer this teenager's question about the romance novels and soap operas, but we'd love to hear your response! Comment below and let us know what you think and why! Why Does God Lets Bad Things Happen To Good People?

Why Does God Lets Bad Things Happen To Good People?
This week we answer a teenager's question about why God would let a close family member die while bad and sinful people continue to live. Does God not care? Is he not powerful enough to stop it? Does he not really love us? Does he even exist in the first place? These are all good and honest questions that we answer. We all go through hard times in life, but ultimately we can know that God is in control, that things happen for a reason, and that just because something bad happens doesn't mean that his heart isn't breaking as much as ours is. He wants us to go to him with those struggles and wrestling through those faith issues together. In this video, some youth workers share some of their own stories about death and losing loved ones and close family members, what it did for their faith, and conclusions they've drawn from it. We hope it helps you as you struggle with these same questions. My parents like my sibling more than me
For this week's video I talked with several teenagers, adults, parents and YouTubers about how to handle a situation where you feel like your parents like your sibling more than you. What can you do if your brother or sister gets all the attention, is better in school, a star athlete, and is popular in school and you're not? How should you respond when your brother or sister outshines you and your parents favor your sibling over you? That's what we talk about in this week's video. My parents give me no privacy!
This week we answer a teenager's question about privacy from their parents. This teenager feels like his/her parents are always around, invading their privacy, not giving them any space, and even suffocating them. How do you handle a parent who is overly protective, strict, and overbearing? How do you talk with your parent about it to resolve the tension? What do you do when you family is always in your space and not giving you any breathing room? That's what we discuss in this week's Youth Questions video. Many teenagers, parents, and YouTubers give input to this topic at VidCon 2011, including Spenceiful, ScottKinmartinTV, HeyThatsMike, WhatsUpJames, and Michael Gregory of the Gregory Brothers at schmoyoho. Is our dependence on social media hurting us?

Is our dependence on social media hurting us?
Quick video this week since I'm on my way out the door for my wedding anniversary with my wife, but wanted to quickly answer one of your questions and encourage you to submit a ton of questions for me to talk to Vidcon in two weeks. I want to interview and collab with as many YouTubers there as I can, answering your questions about life, dating, relationships, parents, school, and any other issues you're going through in life. Hit me up with a boatload of questions to take to Vidcon for you! Today I answer a question about social media (facebook, twitter, youtube, google plus, etc) and if our dependence on it is helping or hurting us. I'm really interested to hear how you teens answer this question. Please leave your thoughts in the comments, or better yet, leave a video response!
