Kristy Marie Houle has learned to accept her abusive past without having those hurts define her future. She acknowledges she is on a long-term journey. \Various events or statements can trigger memories of the past. However, she has learned how to process those negative thoughts so they do not dominate her current thinking. She has valuable life experiences to pass on to help others who may be living their past hurts. Kristy acknowledges her relationship with her father and grandmother as two defining influences to help guide her future. God is the largest influence in her life to help her provide order to an otherwise hurtful past.
