Josh Forti, the founder and host of The Think Different Theory Podcast, and Below is Josh’s story written from Josh.
I want to welcome you to my paradigm of thinking. Your life is about to change.
YOUR LIFE IS ABOUT TO CHANGE.
First off, before I tell you the how this revolutionary idea came to be, I should make you aware of something. It’s important.
I think, act, and do things differently than most people. I am not “normal” in the way I think, and I have no desire to be.
To me, normal is boring, uninspiring, and doesn’t really do anything fun or worthwhile.
I own my flaws, learn from my failures, double down on my strengths, and celebrate my wins.
No matter what, I always share what I learn – win, lose, or otherwise. My goal is to make the world better, and by sharing my story, I hope to do just that. Unlike most, I understand that what I do or don’t do doesn’t define me. How I react and respond does.
From a young age, I knew I wanted more out of life – even when I didn’t know how, or really even what that meant. But I went and made it happen.
Thinking differently in all areas of my life allowed me to pursue this, and through applying this simple concept I’ve been blessed to live a life that’s unlike the one most people will ever get to live.
My goal while you’re listening to this podcast is to bring you into a new way of thinking, show you a perspective you may have never otherwise seen, and change the way you think, act, and learn.
Because in my paradigm of thinking, anything is possible. All it takes is the right mindset, and the ability to ask the right questions. That comes from Thinking Different.
“Cool, Josh! So you think differently, and you have a podcast that talks about it! But why? And how did it come about?”
Great question. Let’s dive in.
As I said, I have always wanted “more” out of life, even from a young age. At age 19 I started my first real company. A farming business. I grew up on a farm and I knew the space well.
Within a year we had a little success. And then went bankrupt.
My business partner’s wife divorced him and we had no proper paperwork in place for legal protection. I lost everything and was back to square one living with my parents.
I then got a job working in insurance sales, selling group life and health insurance to businesses and corporations. Talk about an experience. I knew that I wasn’t where I wanted to be, but I knew I was headed in the right direction. I was out of farm life, and onto something.
Door-to-door sales will show you just how rude people are. After knocking on over 500 doors one summer and only making ONE SALE, I knew something had to change.
I started into the online marketing space in January of 2016.
I quickly realized there was A LOT I didn’t know, but I began to realize that it was possible for anyone to succeed if you just knew how. It wasn’t a game of luck. I also observed that change could happen very quickly when you focused.
There was just one problem. There wasn’t ANYONE that prepared me for the mental journey I was about to embark on.
Instagram made entrepreneurship look pretty sexy, and like it would be smooth sailing. I quickly found out it wasn’t.
Starting my own company and going through massive amounts of failure (and success) was the most mentally challenging thing I have ever done in my life… and almost NO ONE was talking about it.
I started studying really successful people. During my time traveling and networking, I have been fortunate enough to meet some very financially successful and influential people. Naturally, I had questions.
I began to ask them what the key to success was.
Not a single one of them said, “Run better ads” or “Have a better product”. That wasn’t the key.
The key to all of their success across the board? They ALL said mindset. Asking the right questions. A willingness to put in the work.
So why was no one talking about this? Why was no one sharing the mental struggles?
There were times when I was so seriously depressed – even AFTER having success – and when I looked around, social media told me that everyone else was killing it and just fine.
I felt very alone.
Then one day I was watching a video by Sam Ovens. He was talking about “finding the source” of something.
I asked myself a simple question – why am I unhappy? What is causing that unhappiness?
I traced it back to the source and eliminated what I believed to be the core source of stress and unhappiness in my life.
My life changed so drastically, I knew I was onto something.
I realized that by applying the theory of thinking differently about everything, I could create whatever life I wanted and I could accomplish anything I wanted.
Thus began “The Think Different Theory”.
I have a very strong “why” behind what I do.
My WHY is to inspire people to break free and find their purpose, know truth, and define their own destiny, so they fall in love with life and make the world a better place.
I believe that we as a society don’t talk about what actually matters, we talk about what sells.
And I am here to change that.
I am not trying to sell you a course, pitch you a product, or be your life coach.
I am here to ask important questions and talk about things that matter.
Mindset. Personal responsibility. The ups and downs of life.
This podcast is my way of sharing my journey of life with the world – what I learn, experience, and discover – in an attempt to change it for the better.
I firmly believe that thinking different can change anyone’s life. Why?
Because if a farm boy from Indiana, who didn’t have texting until he was 18 or have dial up internet until 20, can change his life, anyone can.
Thinking different helped me find purpose, fulfillment, and happiness. It helped me create a life that I could only dream of, and live in a reality where I define my own destiny. It gave me the ability to do more, be more, and see the world differently.
This podcast is for those that want more, dream bigger, live in a world without limits.
This is for the bold. The courageous. The truth seekers. The misfits. The world changers. The misunderstood. And the ones who refuse to give up.
Welcome to The Think Different Theory.
Thanks for listening.
As always – hustle, hustle, God bless. Don’t be afraid to #ThinkDifferent, because those of use that do are the ones that will change the world. Even if that world is just our own.

Peace.
