In dieser Folge geht es um ein Thema, das nicht immer als erstes bei einem Gespräch zwischen Agentur und Kunde fällt, aber einen sehr großen Kostenposten ausmacht, bei großen Maschinenbau-Unternehmen: Ersatzteilversorgung! Langlebige Maschinen (Traktoren, Stanzmaschinen, Hochöfen, etc.) sind Produkte, die zur den langlebigen gehören. Firmen, die diese Produkte wiederum kaufen, müssen daher sichergehen, dass sie beim Hersteller Ersatzteile adhoc bestellen können. Und jetzt wird es interessant! Ersatzteile zu bestellen ist nicht in jeder Region der Welt einfach. Es gibt Bereiche, die sind logistisch abgehängt, wodurch sich Ersatzteillieferungen stark verzögern können oder teilweise garnicht ankommen. An diesem Punkt stehend hat sich Max Siebert, Ehemals Head von Data Value bei der BASF, Gedanken gemacht und eine Produktidee entwickelt: eine 3D-Druck-Plattform für industrielle Ersatzteile: Sie heißt Repliquie.io.

Did you know researchers at Colorado State University are working to 3D-print a material that’s almost chemically identical to bone? Nelson Isaacson, a graduate student researcher in the School of Advanced Materials Discovery, is working to make this bone-like material stronger so it can be used in surgeries of bone-damage patients in places like the hips and legs that bare considerable weight. The goal is also to make this material bioresorbable, meaning once implanted into a human body, the bone-like material will incorporate itself into the existing bone and become virtually unnoticeable.
