In de nieuwe Kick-off Oranje, de voetbalpodcast van De Telegraaf, bespreekt presentator Pim Sedee met chef voetbal Valentijn Driessen en Ajax- en Oranje-volger Mike Verweij het laatste voetbalnieuws, met geregeld exclusieve nieuwtjes.

Allereerst wordt er vooruitgeblikt op de finale van het EK: Italië - Engeland. Er wordt gebeld met chef Telesport Marcel van der Kraan, die de halve finale tussen Engeland en Denemarken bijwoonde op Wembley en het Britse voetbal op de voet volgt.

Van der Kraan is niet te spreken over de speelstijl van Engeland. ,,Veel aanvallende talenten krijgen weinig minuten in het elftal, zo zonde,’’ stelt ook Driessen. Verder gaat Van der Kraan in op de complete gekte die in Engeland is losgebarsten.

Dan Louis van Gaal. Het lijkt een kwestie van dagen voor hij wordt aangesteld als nieuwe bondscoach van Oranje. ,,Het getuigt niet van visie dat de KNVB bij hem uitkomt,’’ aldus Driessen. Van der Kraan: ,,In het buitenland gaan ze er anders mee om. Daar kiezen ze voor trajecten. Denk bijvoorbeeld aan Joachim Löw in Duitsland en Gareth Southgate in Engeland.’’

Verder brengt Verweij uiteraard het laatste Ajax-nieuws, met in de hoofdrol Dusan Tadic, die ondanks serieuze interesse van AC Milan in Amsterdam blijft. ,,Maar het lijkt me dat ze hem na dit seizoen wel een transfer gunnen,’’ aldus Verweij.

Ook komen in Kick-off de laatste ontwikkelingen bij Feyenoord en PSV aan bod. Zoals het naderende vertrek van Denzel Dumfries. De EK-uitblinker van Oranje gaat wellicht naar Internazionale.
