A Hard Day's Night-In The Eye of The Beatlemania Hurricane

A Hard Day's Night-In The Eye of The Beatlemania Hurricane

Imagine yourself in the shoes of the Fab Four from Liverpool (also known as The Beatles) in 1964. You've just released a single that has reached number 1 in the US. You've went on a tour of the United States, which included a stop on the legendary Ed Sullivan Show. You are already lighting the world on fire with your music. Surely there is nothing more that you can do.  Except for making one of the greatest jukebox Comedy films of all time.
That's exactly what happened when John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr starred in their first feature film outing. A Hard Day's Night follows 36 hours of they days in the lives of these 4 brits. There's a short-tempered manager they have to deal with, and an apparently cranky clean old grandpa. Will their TV performance go off without a hitch? Will Ringo get the respect he deserves? Will Shake ever stop being taller than Norm?
Produced by United Artists, A Hard Day's Night was an interesting project to say the least. Mostly created to sell records in the US, no one knew the impact this film would have on music in film and the style of filming music.
Listen along as four boys from Liverpool do a whole lot of singing, dancing, and parading. Find out why the director Richard Lester is considered the grandfather of MTV and so much more!!
