A Few Good Men (1992) Tom Cruise, Jack Nicholson, Demi Moore, Kevin Pollack & Kiefer Sutherland
Hosts Sonia Mansfield and Margo D. can’t handle the truth and dork out about 1992’s A FEW GOOD MEN, starring Tom Cruise, Demi Moore, Kevin Pollack, Kevin Bacon, Kiefer Sutherland, and Jack Nicholson.

    Dork out everywhere …

    Faithspotting "To Kill A Mockingbird"

    Faithspotting "To Kill A Mockingbird"

Kenny and Mike discuss and spotfaith in the film and stage adaptations of Harper Lee's classic novel, To Kill A Mockingbird. The film version was released in 1962 and stars Gregory Peck as Atticus Finch and Mary Badham as Scout. The stage production, written by Aaron Sorkin starred Jeff Daniels as Atticus opened on Broadway in 2018. The 2023 touring production stars Richard Thomas with Mary Badham playing Mrs. Henry Dubose, and Melanie Moore as Scout.

    Faith Spotted:

The film and stage production depict Atticus as a Christ Figure in his willingness and courage to do the righteous thing in representing Tom Robinson, knowing he and his family will suffer for it.

The place and audacity of evil as personified by Bob Ewell who abuses his own daughter, blames Tom Robinson, taunts the Robinson family, and the Finch children.

In the face of such evil, and in contrast to the example of Christ as seen in Atticus, the temptation to go along, to remain silent and fail to stand up for righteousness.

The gift of grace to do what is righteous even if it is not in line with the law as depicted by Sherrif Heck Tate when he declared Bob Ewell fell on his knife during his attack on the Finch children.

Episode 70 -- Moneyball (The Movie)

Episode 70 -- Moneyball (The Movie)

As elder millenials, Josh and Tom decided to watch the movie rather than read the book, and that's what we did with the 2011 Bennett Miller / Aaron Sorkin movie Moneyball.  It was based on a 2003 book by Michael Lewis about the 2002 Oakland Athletics.  We dig into the movie a bit, we nitpick the baseball details because we're a baseball podcast.  Though we do call out important details they got right, like the Royals' horrifying 2002 uniforms.  Also, some dude named Brad Pitt was involved. Never heard of him, though.

    Being The Ricardos

    Being The Ricardos

So just what is the real history behind Aaron Sorkin's Being the Ricardos? Gaz and Mel take you behind the scenes of I Love Lucy to discover the true story of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz's famous sitcom. We talk about their troubled relationship, the real story behind her on screen pregnancy, and put the context behind the accusations of her being a communist. So what is the real story? Join us to find out!

    Faithspotting "Being the Ricardos"

    Faithspotting "Being the Ricardos"

Kenny and Mike discuss, and spot faith issues reflected in Academy Award nominated film about the lives of Lucille Ball and Ricky Ricardo.

    Faith Reflected:

The temptation of coveting power, influence, and attention to bear false witness and other aspects living lives of righteousness.

The power fear has to lead persons to forsake foundational principles of God's righteousness and personal, institutional or communal foundational beliefs and morals.

Fidelity in marriage and other relationships.

The call to use the gifts and talents to the best of one's abilities and not settle for doing less than one's best.

    Len Loves Lucy-Hot Media #315

In Hot Media episode 315, host Bob Mann and guest Len Klatt (TV producer and comedy historian) disagree about the new Aaron Sorkin film "Being the Ricardos." The movie looks behind the scenes at the lives of Lucy and Desi as they create the classic sitcom and make history. Bob loves it. Len loves Lucy but not this film. Bob & Len also talk about the latest episode of digital sitcom "Here to There." Len is a co-creator.

    The Weird Appeal of Moneyball

    The Weird Appeal of Moneyball

Tony and film expert Marcus Gorman revel at how a movie about “data” can be wildly entertaining as they analyze Aaron Sorkin and Bennett Miller’s drama on its 10th anniversary. Topics include: the relevance of fantasy sports to millions of Americans; Brad Pitt’s virtuosic performance; the film as a relatable “inventor’s story”; and what art and sports have in common.

    TYLER LABINE: Career Pivoting

    TYLER LABINE: Career Pivoting
Over the course of his 20+ years as an actor, today’s guest has reinvented himself, pushing beyond Hollywood typecasting into roles that have allowed him to reach new heights as both an artist, and as a person.

Tyler Labine’s long list of credits include Hulu’s, “Deadbeat”, The WB’s “Dead Last”, NBC’s “Animal Practice”, CBS’s “Mad Love”, FX’s “Sons of Tucson” and he can currently be seen on the new season of BBC’s “Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency” and the NBC hit series, “New Amsterdam” as Dr. Iggy Frome.

Born in Canada, Tyler discusses what it was like growing up as one of three artistically inclined siblings. He shares his experience of getting started in the film and television industry, and how his desire for more opportunities ultimately landed him in Los Angeles with roommate Ryan Gosling. Early on in his career, Tyler experienced being typecast in predominantly comedic roles. Often playing the goofy character type for a number of years, Tyler shares how he was able to shift casting's view of him and the kinds of projects he began to take on in order to do so.

Now playing a wide range of roles across the comedy to drama spectrum, today’s episode is full of insight and tips for actors at all levels. From discussing the ins-and-outs of actor finances, to character building technique, to his audition story opposite Aaron Sorkin that you’ll have to hear to believe, Tyler is an example of what it means to grow as a person, and as a result, grow as an artist.

Océane (Lemon Adaptation Club) - The Social Network : Ce film m'a poussé à limiter mon utilisation des réseaux sociaux

Also, 'Parasite' Director Bong Joon-Ho's second feature film 'Memories of Murder' returned to cinemas for a two-night showing, and you might be surprised to find it's not too far off from what won Joon-Ho his first Oscar last year.
