In this chapter of Universal horror history we learn how the famous monsters returned to the silver screen, when Dracula, the Wolfman and Frankenstein Monster met Abbott and Costello, an unlikely resurrection in more ways than one!

It's our 100th episode Candy Killers, not that Screamin' E cares, but whatever! Today we're back with our Silver Scream Series to discuss ABBOTT AND COSTELLO MEET FRANKENSTEIN! Een unicum! Voor het eerst in deze show hebben we niet een, maar twee podgasten. Want als je om één Cinemaatje vraagt, krijg je er steevast een tweede bij. Host Ruud reisde naar Tilburg af om te babbelen met William en Jean-Paul. En wie de zeventiende aflevering van hun podcast Cinepraatjes heeft geluisterd, weet al dat het om een uitwisseling gaat!

Zowel J.P. als William had niet veel op met de scifi-kraker Arrival, toen-ie uitkwam in 2016. En nu nog steeds niet. Terwijl de wereld dacht: "Amy Adams die leert communiceren met zevenpotige aliens? Yes, please!", dachten zij: "Boe!" En laat dit nou net een podcast zijn die gedijt op afwijkende meningen! Het wordt verdomde gezellig ook! En dat is nog voor er flessen wijn worden opengetrokken om op de Cinemaatjes-toer te gaan...

Verder hebben we het ook over de wetenschappelijke capaciteiten van 'Jeremy Remspoor', het gebruik van anagrammen als kindernamen en de onvermijdelijkheid van lineair denken.

It's a birthday bash for Lou Costello in this week's bonus comedy show. We'll hear Costello and Bud Abbott trade barbs and backwards logic in a pair of episodes from their long-running radio series. First, Costello wants to join the Merchant Marines (originally aired on NBC on January 25, 1945). Then, Bud and Lou hit the road to hire the Andrews Sisters (originally aired on NBC on April 5, 1945).

With Christmas right around the corner, we're launching a month of holiday comedies from the golden age of radio. First, Bud and Lou trim the tree and get a visit from Santa in The Abbott and Costello Show (originally aired on ABC on December 24, 1947). Then, Phil Harris and Alice Faye enlist an old friend to play St. Nick in The Fitch Bandwagon (originally aired on NBC on December 21, 1947).

Actress Lynn Bari enjoyed a long career on the big and small screens, and though she never really broke into the starring sphere she appeared in hundreds of films opposite some of the major stars of the era. Her specialty was playing "the other woman" - the man-hungry femme fatale who was always ready with a seductive look or a gun - and she won the admiration of GIs as one of the most popular pinup girls of World War II. We'll hear her in her only visit to Suspense - "Murder By an Expert" (originally aired on CBS on July 24, 1947). Then, she joins Bud and Lou in a wild west comedy on The Abbott and Costello Show (originally aired on NBC on December 16, 1943).

We wrap up our month of Halloween comedies with Bud Abbott and Lou Costello hosting some of Hollywood's legends of horror. First, Peter Lorre offers Costello a trip to his sanitarium (originally aired on NBC on January 13, 1944). Next, Bud and Lou investigate Bela Lugosi's haunted house (originally aired on ABC on May 5, 1948). Finally, Lon Chaney, Jr. is after Costello's girl (originally aired on ABC on June 2, 1948).

Before her landmark sitcom hit the small screen, Lucille Ball was a comedy star on radio. We'll hear the legendary redhead in a guest spot alongside Bud and Lou on The Abbott and Costello Show (originally aired on NBC on November 18, 1943). Then, as Liz Cooper, she takes French lessons in My Favorite Husband (originally aired on CBS on December 9, 1949).

After the success of last year's Halloween Special Special, Michael and Scott are back to join Andy in recommending and discussing some Halloween movies that are fun for the whole family including Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein, Hocus Pocus, and ParaNorman. Let the haunting season begin!
