How Eczema Affects Our Mental Health feat. Abby Tai of Eczema Conquerors

On the seventh episode of The Sarah Show, Sarah talks with Abby Tai, founder and creator of Eczema Conquerors and host of the Eczema Podcast.

Opening up about this topic for the first time online, Sarah shares that she has dealt with eczema since she was born. She'd often hide her wounds, hate herself for itching, and felt very alone because of it. Abby Tai shares that she was also born with the skin condition, but it grew dramatically worse when she broke up with her first love. Listen to the episode to hear about how they treat their eczema, how steroid creams may lead to homicidal tendencies (WHAT?!), and what they've learned about God during their struggles.

    Bible verse quoted: James 1:2-6

MORE ABOUT THE GUEST: Abby Tai is a holistic nutritionist who has battled with eczema from an early age. Instead of isolating herself in her pain, she created an online community for people who were suffering just like her. Now, through her podcast and social media,  Abby educates others and facilitates conversations about the skin condition, topical steroid withdrawal, and promotes ways to heal and cope. She has authored several books on the subject, and has her own skincare line for people with sensitive/eczema skin:

As we discuss in this episode, atopic dermatitis (eczema) in children and adults has been linked to the development of depression, anxiety, and even suicidal ideation. Here are some studies that show evidence of this:
