Song writing in the 21st-Century is an increasingly precarious endeavour. We now live in a world where even the slightest similar melodic pattern could send you to court, while AI-driven production could send you packing.

But despite this, there's still something magical about song writing. So what keeps compelling people to try their luck at crafting songs in the streaming era?

So, enter the writing room (or pub) to hear from four Australian rock legends who've witnessed this magic. Together, they've played for bands including Midnight Oil, Mental as Anything, The Go Betweens, and R.E.M.

I first heard of the Canadian Modern Quilt Collective when their Instagram page came onto my feed one day. I was excited to hear about the great Canadian Shop Hop. I was very interested in the topic. As a Canadian myself I loved this idea of promoting local quilt shops across the nation.  Amanda Brown is the curator of that Instagram feed where she features Canadian modern quilters as well. I reached out to her to find out more and it went something like this…

Just as we were recording this episode, a girl in our sorority decided to get a perm. We tried to talk her out of it because curls weren't a good look for her, but she went ahead and did it anyway. When she entered the wet t-shirt contest, she was completely hosed down, lost all of her curls and then we all decided to sit down and watch Legally Blonde.
