    Borderline Mothers - Part 1

    Borderline Mothers - Part 1
People wonder what the difference is between Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD). The key difference is that BPD's are centered around avoiding abandonment, whereas NPD's are centered around making sure that they are constantly the center of attention. Children of BPD's do not get consistent emotional parenting. The attachment style is typically ambivalent anxious. The children of BPD's serve to make sure that the mother is never abandoned. Rather than the focus being on regulating the children's feelings, it is the children that have the terrible burden of regulating mother's feelings. A few of the characteristics of BPD: Unstable Relationships, Black and White Thinking, Fear of Abandonment, Impulsive and self-Destructive Behavior, Distorted Self Image, and Problems Regulating Emotions and Thoughts.
