Susan Snow describes the horror of the day she received the news that her father, off duty LAPD officer was assassinated by a perpetrator he was testifying against. She dives into the lack of mental health care offered in the beginning of her grief process, and the PTSD that followed her witnessing the crime scene, and her path to forgiveness. 

Murder Of Two Police Officers, The Night Of The Devil. Special Episode, Digitally Remastered.  In August 1963, the Angel Lounge in New Jersey bore witness to a gruesome crime as Sgt. Peter Voto and Officer Gary Tedesco were fatally shot. One of the assailants met his fate just days later, while the other faced arrest, conviction, and a death sentence. Eventually, the death penalty was commuted, leading to his release. Murder Of Two Police Officers, The Night Of The Devil. 

Joining us as our special guest is Patty Tedesco, sister of the late Lodi NJ Police Officer Gary Tedesco. Patty provides a firsthand account of the murder, its profound impact on her family, and the community at large in New Jersey. This harrowing murder case also served as the inspiration for the book, "Night of the Devil." Murder Of Two Police Officers, one was her brother. 

In August 1963, Sgt. Peter Voto and Officer Gary Tedesco were brutally killed at the Angel Lounge, a local pub. One of the murderers met his end a few days later, while the other was apprehended, convicted, and sentenced to death. However, the death penalty was later commuted, and he was subsequently released. Patty Tedesco, the sister of Lodi NJ Police Officer Gary Tedesco, joins us as our guest. Patty shares her perspective on the murder, its lasting impact on her family, and its reverberations throughout New Jersey. Sergeant Peter Voto and Officer Gary Tedesco lost their lives in August 1963 while responding to a disturbance call at the Angel Lounge, a local pub. The suspects, who were former convicts in their mid-20s, had recently committed a robbery in Brooklyn, New York. To celebrate, they partied at the Angel Lounge, consuming copious amounts of alcohol and barbiturates, causing multiple noise complaints from neighbors. When Officers Tedesco and Voto arrived to quell the disturbance, they were viciously attacked, and their service weapon was seized. The assailants proceeded to pistol-whip the officers and ultimately shot them to death.

Extraordinary special episode as we recount the harrowing journey of Sheriff's Sergeant David James from the Richmond County Sheriff's Office in Augusta, Georgia. His life took an unexpected twist when he faced a life-threatening ambush, enduring five gunshot wounds from a 16-year-old assailant.

David's remarkable story begins with the loss of one eye, severe vision impairment in the other, and a series of other injuries that changed the course of his life. Additionally, he developed kidney failure, a medical challenge that would significantly shape his future. His first kidney transplant, though life-saving, regrettably failed after a few years.

However, it was under the most miraculous and heroic circumstances that David received a second chance at life through a kidney transplant. The accidental death of a fellow east-Georgia sheriff's deputy, Deputy Eric Sikes, paved the way for David's life-saving organ transplant. 3 Police Officers Abducted and Murdered. Special Episode. A stain on Georgia history, that still impacts families and people in that area. Three Georgia Police Officers were abducted and murdered on Arc Road.

In 1964, 3 Georgia Police Officers, Marvin Jesse Gravitt, Jerry Everett and Ralph Davis, were dispatched to investigate a disturbance. It was determined later to be a stolen car. During the investigation on scene, they were surprised, handcuffed together, abducted and then brutally murdered. The bodies of the three police officers were dumped in the woods. 

Tony Tiffin is our guest.Tony talks about the ambush, abduction and murder. Plus, the impact that the murders still have on their families and other people in the area. Even though this happened in 1964, the impact is still felt after all these years. He documented the entire incident in this book Arc Road.

Australian Police Officers Ambushed and Shot. The Horrifying Story. Retired Queensland Australia Senior Police Sergeant Daryl Elliott Green, and two partners Sharnelle Cole and Sergeant Chris Mulhall were shot many times in an ambush. He talks about the near death attack and his long recovery from PTSD and physical injuries from the shooting.

On what seemed like a routine call, Queensland Australia Police Constables Dayrl Green and Sharnelle Cole were dispatched to investigate a threat that happened hours earlier. They were backed up by Sergeant Chris Mulhall. During the investigation, they were ambushed by the suspect and shot multiple times with a .22. Daryl was shot twice including once in the face. He tells the harrowing details of the attack, his life saving actions and his long road of recovery from both the physical injuries and PTSD. As this podcast demonstrates, Insurgency is one of the world’s oldest professions.  It is a chance for the oppressed or the invaded to push back, to challenge the larger force with unconventional and guerrilla tactics.  Whether assassination or ambush, punji stakes or IEDs, the Insurgent has many tricks and answers to the larger enemy.  The Chinese strategist Tzu Su argued it was a key aspect of warfare, and today it is as relevant as it ever was.  Spartacus used such methods, as did TE Lawrence.  Indeed, even Lawrence’s approach to demolishing bridges – leaving them upright but destroyed – is a formula adopted by Ukraine when attacking the Kerch Strait bridge in Crimea.

The indirect approach and keeping the enemy off balance; Insurgency embraces it all.
