Ihrer Leidenschaft, der US-Politik, frönt sie aber weiterhin, unter anderem als Gastgeberin im Tamedia-Podcast «Alles klar, Amerika?».
In ihrer ersten Ausgabe analysiert sie im Gespräch mit Fabian Fellmann die Anhörungen zum Sturm auf das Capitol, die am Donnerstag ihren vorläufigen Höhepunkt finden werden. 

Der Amerika-Korrespondent von Tamedia hat die bisherigen Befragungen live verfolgt und in einem ausführlichen Artikel als «American Horror Story» beschrieben. Im Podcast erklärt er, warum dieser Titel keine Übertreibung ist – und Isabelle Jacobi erzählt, wie sie selbst den traumatischen Tag mitten in der Hauptstadt erlebt hat. Gemeinsam schauen die beiden nach vorne und diskutieren, ob die Anhörungen mehr sind als eine Aufarbeitung für die Geschichtsbücher.

Zur Lage in der Ukraine und den Waffenlieferungen der USA befragen Jacobi und Fellmann den früheren US-General Mike Repass, den sie bereits im März als Konkurrenten interviewt hatten. Der 64-Jährige bildete bis zum Krieg im Auftrag des Verteidigungsbündnisses Nato in der Ukraine Spezialeinheiten aus. Laut Repass reichen die bereits geschickten Kanonen und Raketenwerfer bei weitem nicht aus, damit die Ukraine die militärische Überlegenheit Russlands kompensieren kann. Erst in fünf bis zehn Jahren dürfte die ukrainische Armee laut Repass soweit sein, dass sie die russische Armee zurückdrängen könnte. «Die Ukraine braucht aber nicht Dutzende Artilleriegeschütze wie bisher, sondern Hunderte», sagt Repass, früherer Oberbefehlshaber der Nato-Spezialeinheiten in Europa.

Den Preis für diese Aufrüstung zahlen die Ukrainerinnen und Ukrainer, zunehmend auch die Bevölkerung in Europa und den USA – und auch die Ärmsten dieser Welt, die unter den steigenden Nahrungs- und Energiepreisen leiden und zunehmend von Hungerkrisen bedroht werden.

It is time loyal listener for another super-stuffed episode of this pop-culture podcast.  This episode of Nick Nack Goes to the Movies is all about the Black Mirror franchise.  In the spirit of long lasting franchise marathon binges, we have given this the American Horror Story treatment.  I got through all 22 movies/episodes in two weeks and here we are.  If you want to be horrified by technology that seems far off, but shockingly isn't, if you want to reflect on the world that is, or if you just want to feel some small sense of overwhelming dread, have I got an anthology series for you.  The mini-movies are the best thing for fans of a certain type of horror, and while most of these are dark, and depressing, as they should be, they are all well made and a few are actually pretty fun.  Some may be too weird, dark, or messed up, but nothing will be as weird as Men of course.  And the cast of these is stacked, there will be some actor that you will be really excited to see in at least one or a few of these.  It could be Hannah John Kamen, Jerome Flynn, Anthony Mackie, John Hamm, Haley Atwell, Bryce Dallas Howard, Daniel Kaluuya, Yahah Abdul Mateen the second, Miley Cyrus, or someone I didn't mention here yet!  MCU, Game of Thrones, James Bond, and more mainstays are littered in these 22 episodes.   So go watch these episodes on Netflix now, and make sure to let me know your favorites and Letterboxd order/rankings.  Let me know on social at Nick Nack Movies or NickNack_IC on every social platform including Twitter, Instagram, Tik Tok, and more!
