Wendell Cox is our special guest. Official data show that people are moving out of some of the largest metropolitan areas, such as New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Chicago. At the same time, residents of these areas are moving to Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston and Atlanta and many smaller areas. A principal cause is so-called smart growth policies that have destroyed the American Dream for many Americans by driving house prices up astronomically. Wendell will show that some of the nation's metropolitan areas have chosen a less competitive and slower growth future for their citizens. Not such smart growth policies in some of the larger cities like New York and San Francisco where labor unions have exercised enormous power to the point of forcing governments to the edge of bankruptcy, which may be another reason for the internal migration of Americans.
