Episode 56: The Greenbrier Ghost
In this episode we discuss the death of Zona Heaster Shue, a young bride, who was found dead in her West Virginia home on January 23, 1897. The circumstances of Zona’s death have been shrouded in mystery due to rumors about her husband Erasmus Stribbling “Trout” Shue and to Mary Heaster’s story about her daughter visiting her from beyond the grave. I’m not sure if this story should be classified as a ghost story or murder mystery, but it is an interesting tale. Listen to our latest and maybe you will be able to answer who or what caused Zona Heaster Shue’s death, and if a ghost was responsible for a guilty man being convicted of murder.
