    Las Patronas with Sofia Reyes

    Hola amigas!

We'd like to welcome you to our new series here on the Latina Leadership Podcast, Las Patronas! To put it in layman's terms, come meet a couple of girl-bosses! Sit down with Anjelica and Sofia today as they have an off the cuff conversation about culture, flying, being a parent, and much more. Tune in to meet two of our co-hosts as they share their personal stories, fears, and many laughs.

Liz Rebecca Alarcón: Reporting with Purpose

Liz Rebecca Alarcón: Reporting with Purpose

Newsflash! Our podcast founder, Anjelica Cazares, sits down with Liz Alarcón, the founder and executive director of Project Pulso, a media outlet that shares history, culture, and commentary for and by Latinos. Liz's story began when she noticed the considerable lack of Latino representation in mainstream media. She realized that Latinos needed a place to let their stories be heard, and created Project Pulso to give Latinos a platform to do just that. Not only does Project Pulso elevate Latinos, but they also use their platform to promote other marginalized communities. It is important to Project Pulso, (and us here at the LLP) that oppressed voices do not remain silenced. When minority groups band together in support of one another, we become a greater force that can accomplish many things. Tune in to hear more about the roots of Project Pulso, and check out their page where every post is a celebration of the past, present, and future of Latino heritage and lifestyle.

I Love Chamoy with Annie Leal

I Love Chamoy with Annie Leal

Our co-host Anjelica Cazares sits down with founder and CEO of I Love Chamoy, Annie Leal. I Love Chamoy is a small business that specializes in the production of sugar-free chamoy, creating a healthier alternative for diabetics and those alike. After her father was diagnosed with diabetes, Annie was inspired to begin working on her own sugar-free chamoy recipe once she noticed there was no sugar-free alternative for her father to enjoy. Starting her business in the midst of the pandemic, I Love Chamoy garnered much of its success online, and built an audience of consumers through their social media. Today, I Love Chamoy is sold across Texas through one of the states' biggest retailers, HEB, as well as in select Home Goods stores in addition to their online store front. Listen to Annie share more behind the beginning of I Love Chamoy, and how her online presence has helped grow her business into what it is today. Is it truly personal or is it fair game? On being metiche.

Is it truly personal or is it fair game? On being metiche.

Let's face it. We are all naturally curious and yes, maybe even a little nosy! Have you ever been asked something quite "personal" in an unexpected moment or an expected question at an inopportune time? Preguntas necias - you might have heard of these questions being referred to as such. That's what we are talking in this very last episode of 2022. Friends, we are welcoming a new year tonight and we wanted to go ahead and pose these questions to you as we close out the year. Give it a listen. Don't take anything personal. And let us know your thoughts. Happy New Year!!

Getting More Latinas into the Boardroom with Esther Aguilera

Getting More Latinas into the Boardroom with Esther Aguilera

I had the pleasure of sitting down with President and CEO of Latino Corporate Directors Association (LCDA), Esther Aguilera. We talked about her humble beginnings as the child of immigrants and the very important work she’s doing empowering and training the next generation of Latinos in the corporate world. "I think it was certainly college, like for many of us, was a pivot point…I felt very self-conscience about my accent and so many different things that I felt like the odd one out. But…when you put yourself in new or challenging roles or things where you might be outside your comfort level, I think that's where we grow the most. We're sponges, we absorb, we adapt. And I think that's a great quality for Latinas and Latinos." Watch and listen to all podcast episodes here: https://linktr.ee/anjelica_cazares
