He's Holy & I'm Knott Welcomes a Howard County treasure Mr. Ian Kennedy

He's Holy & I'm Knott Welcomes a Howard County treasure Mr. Ian Kennedy

Rev Al Hathaway and I are so excited about this one.

"Set the gear shift to the high gear of your soul" and learn about Ian Kennedy, a man who was recently in his glory as he watched his favorite band Phish play in the new Merriweather Post Pavillion too a crazed crowd of music lovers.  A lover of all things arts and culture as the Director of the Downtown Columbia Arts and Culture Commision he gets to play a lot of roles as he leads the team charged with more Arts and Culture for all Marylanders.

Ian walks us through the process of getting the improvements to Merriweather approved and funded, not as easy as you might think given the fact that nearly everyone that goes to Merriweather comes out with a smile on their face.  I know last week at the Phish concerts that was certainly the case.

Let's pile on the glory for a man who has fought hard for the Arts, Culture and Musical enrichment for Marylanders that come from all over for the opportunity to enjoy the amazing amenities that Downtown Columbia has to offer.

Thanks Ian for all you are doing, your work is so important...Let it shine let it shine!

    Ep.18 'Art Attack' April 21

    April 2021 – Art Attack

With Banksy making public art the talk of the town, we decided to meet up a stone’s throw away in Forbury Gardens to talk about art in Reading with Dr Naomi Lebens, Curator of the University of Reading Art Collections (collections.reading.ac.uk/art-collections), and Pavlo Keresty from Open Hand Open Space and their new 571 Oxford Road Gallery (ohos.org.uk). We cover Reading’s history as a place of “art” and the forthcoming “Rubens to Sickert: The Study of Drawing” at Reading Museum, the importance of public artworks and getting more people involved in making art in Reading. All while surrounded by the sound of children playing after the latest relaxation of lockdown regulations.

Episode 1: Umami Memories with Gabriel Valentino

Episode 1: Umami Memories with Gabriel Valentino
Welcome to the premiere episode of "Umami Memories: Savoring, Story, Song, & Soul" with me, Gabriel Valentino! Umami Memories are the profound experiences that people remember involving food, music, family, the arts, and words. The melange of moods (a)rousing from a meal; the connections between music, art, philosophy, cultures, nature, & words; and the momentary families that (e)merge from these experiences all become immortalized as cherished memories, memories that become stories of savoring that each soul can sing about for a lifetime. Therefore, Savoring, Story, Song, & Soul stew Umami Memories. This show is about sharing those Umami Memories and about discovering the magical individuals behind them. Guests and listeners (or “Lights” as I refer to you, and believe everyone truly is) are welcome to discuss their respective crafts & talents, as well as to delve into some of their experiences and philosophies. All Lights become a part of everyone’s collective Umami Memories. Please join me, Gabriel Valentino, in sharing the Lights of our talents and experiences, and together, stew Umami Memories.

The AntiSocialites EP. 4 w/ Eskeerdo

The AntiSocialites EP. 4 w/ Eskeerdo
Vina9ine and jxstFE invite two time Grammy winning songwriter/artist Eskeerdo to converse about his long but successful journey in the music industry. The self proclaimed Cuban Jesus doesn't hold back as he illustrates tales of learning how to write songs to working with Diddy and the feelings of being told no. This is definitley an episode to listen too! Eskeerdo's songwriter catalog is bananas and will only spark your interest to know how a kid from Hialeah who dropped out of high school, rubbed shoulders with the likes of Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, Zendaya, Rita Ora, and more. And there is only more to come for him... #HiaHia
