Episode 135: Cults, Clowns, and One Cursed Queen - Jake and Tom Talk the Best (and the Worst) of 2019

2019 was a helluva year in the world of television and cinema.  And while Jake and Tom weren't always there to talk about it as it was happening, they're ringing in 2020 by talking about the year that was!  So listen in as they and their fellow podcaster, Ryan of The Nerd Rage Podcast talk about what they thought was great about 2019, as well as what they thought what might might be politely called "not so great".

And as always, be sure to help Jake and Tom in their quest for world domination by rating them highly on Apple Podcasts, sharing their stuff on social media, following them on Twitter and joining in on the conversation over at their Facebook page, "Jake and Tom Conquer the Group"!  And for more podcasts like theirs, be sure to listen in on "Someone's Favorite Movie Podcast" (hosted by friend of the show, Randy Perkins), and by supporting all of the great shows brought to you by their partners in internet radio, Geeks Worldwide!

    #13 Midsommar

Remake utile ? Inutile ? Bel objet ? Uncanny Valley ? On vous dit tout et plus encore.

63: Ari You Ok? - Midsommar

63: Ari You Ok? - Midsommar

Callie and Kaitlin encounter the pinnacle of softboi trash in this hot new prestige flick from horror's crown prince of what-the-fuckery, Ari Aster. But it's not all eyerolls and rage headaches! They laugh, they scream, they unapologetically lust after Swedish cult members... it's quite a trip.

16 - Midsommar (by Ari Aster)

16 - Midsommar (by Ari Aster)

Hello! Are you ready for the horror movie of the summer? MIDSOMMAR! Join Kelsey and Angie for a journey to Sweden for a Summer Solstice festival gone wrong - or did it? (No, it definitely went very, very wrong.) We talk about Heaven's Gate, Chidi from "The Good Place," and horrific deaths in this episode. In addition, Ari Aster sure likes to show us (let us hear about, in this podcast's case) some naked people chanting, as well - so buckle up, listeners-or-nots!

    Thanks for listening! (Or not!)

    012 // Constant Hoogenbosch 🆚 Hereditary // Duimpjeworstelen

    Hail Paimon!

The crew touches on the careers of the leading ladies- specifically white privilege problems at Issa's nonprofit We Got Y'all, Issa's side gig as a Lyft driver, and Molly's experiences at her new black corporate law firm. They also talk about which characters they want moved from periphery to center. Do they miss Issa's ex, Lawrence? And do they buy into Molly's polyamorous relationship? Or is she's really just a glorified side b****?

    All Abouts

Wynter is all about the horror film Hereditary. Tre'vell is all about the new musical covering the life and times of the Motown group The Temptations called Ain't Too ProudKaren is all about more Asian American representation in Hollywood via John Cho's new thriller Searching.
