Somerset is a great place to fish for bass at any time of year, but over the spring period the fish congregate in numbers in the main basin and feed aggressively. Tournament bass fisho and tackle trade insider Mitch Petty has been fishing this impoundment for years and happily shares some of his learnings in today's episode.

When it comes to SEQ Aussie bass fishing there's no doubt that Lake Wivenhoe is a Brisbane anglers playground. Large and productive, it's a system where cricket score catches of bass aren't uncommon and a large proportion of the fish are over the magic 50cm mark. Fish pushing close to 60cm aren't common, but are certainly on the cards. 

Today's guest, Niki Sticklen has been fishing SEQ for bass for around 10 years. Living close to the lake, she and husband Luke hit Wivenhoe at every opportunity.

Lake Macdonald is a small system on the Sunshine Coast hinterland near Cooroy. The system is stocked with saratoga, cod and golden perch, but by far the most prolific and popular species to target is the Australian bass.

Callum Munroe joins us for Episode 368. The tournament bass angler and fishing guide has lived on the Sunshine Coast for his whole life and caught his first Lake Macdonald bass on 2012-13.
