Cafe Grit 060 Chronic Stress with Mike Goggin

Have you ever thought about your own chronic stress? I mean REALLY thought about it?

In episode 060 of the Cafe Grit podcast, I sat down with my good friend Mike Goggin to talk about some of the ways we have experienced chronic stress - particularly work stress - in our lives.

Since being released from the golden handcuffs of big corporations and consulting, I am just now realizing how bad it was.

If anyone out there is experiencing chronic stress and doesn't know how to deal with it, send me a DM and maybe I can help.

Meanwhile, tell me about chronic stress you have experienced, whether from the workplace or other. How did you deal with it?

The Impact of Bad Bosses on Mental Health: What You Need to Know [EP 4]

The Impact of Bad Bosses on Mental Health: What You Need to Know [EP 4]
On this episode of Coaching Chats, I share my past experiences with bad bosses and their negative impact on mental health. From being ignored and undermined by a certain person to working under dictatorial leadership, I have seen both sides of the spectrum when it comes to good and bad bosses. This episode highlights how emotions are a normal part of being human and how the psychological effects of working for a bad boss can extend beyond just stress. I urge anyone dealing with a bad boss to take action and not ignore the situation, recommending actions such as speaking up or talking to HR, and even finding a new job if necessary. Join me as I explore this important topic and learn how we can thrive in a good work environment.

Ep# 10: How to Quit Your Own Ego & Bad Leadership Style with Eyal Halamish (Part 2/3)

Ep# 10: How to Quit Your Own Ego & Bad Leadership Style with Eyal Halamish (Part 2/3)

This is part 2 of our 3 part series with Eyal Halamish.

The episode jumps right in with Eyal explaining ‘how we fix democracy’ and his theories on policy, government and technology working together to benefit the public and our leaders.

He then continues telling the story of his journey as a leader at OurSay, the platform that he built.  He explains their 'quick' wins within their first 6 months of business: features on ABC Q&A, meetings with former Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard,  Google and Fairfax Media partnerships, and their website getting over 10 million hits.

He was on fire and it was safe to say, Eyal felt on top of the world... until a few missteps sent their strategy into a spin and he nearly lost everything.

Eyal had to reinvent himself. He shares how he ended up running out of capital and needed to let go of his team of 30 people and the journey he took to re-invest himself as a leader. He shares the value of listening to your team and the importance of taking feedback as you go.

    1 Samuel 2 - Audio

    1 Samuel 2 - Audio
1 Samuel 2 begins with Hannah's worshipful prayer to God for His provision. Hannah was pleased to be able to offer her first born son to the Lord for His service, and her prayer displays that. Samuel continued to grow and serve in the House of the Lord, and the Lord blessed him as he ministered. In contrast, the sons of Eli the Priest were wickedly sinful, despising the sacrifices of the Lord, and sleeping with the women who would come to the tabernacle. Consequently, the Lord spoke to Eli and told him that He was going to wipe out Eli's entire household, because of the sin of his sons, and because Eli honored his sons above the Lord.
