    Baggage Handling (Link #660)

    Baggage Handling (Link #660)
Speaker: Dungse Jampal Norbu. Dungse-la explores how the practice of bodhicitta (awakened mind) includes investigating one's own egoic reactions in daily life. Holding onto our history with self-importance results in emotional baggage that leads to habitual reactions in the present that cause suffering. Our emotional baggage is not who we are; it is not intrinsically existent. We can transform it as it surfaces through self-reflection using lojong mind training teachings like "transform obstacles into the path of awakening". Using the four immeasurables to meditate on our "enemies" and objects of hurt or heartbreak can change our relationship with them, turning them into a source of inspiration. Waking up includes letting go of the dream.

    Baggage

    Baggage
Over 2 Million pieces of baggage get lost per year by airlines. That's a huge number. Maybe it's time to lose some of yours. Baggage can also be intangible things (such as feelings, circumstances, or beliefs) that get in the way. Men are so good at holding on to baggage. And our baggage gets in the way of what God wants to do in our lives. Honestly, most men like their baggage because they have been carrying it for so long that it has become part of who they are. Right or wrong it gives us identity. We need to take a lesson from the airlines and loss it. I wonder how many pieces of baggage you have? Perhaps your baggage is so full there is no room for anything else. The less baggage you have, the lighter the journey. Join us as we reveal our baggage.

SNAP 20: Baggage...We Don't Need No Stinking Baggage

On this episode of SNAP, Victor and Monica talk about baggage.  Not the Samsonite or Gucci kind, but the kind that has the ability to make or break a relationship.  How we are raised, what sort of relationships we’ve had, what sorts of let downs and successes.  All of these experiences leave scars and tell-tale baggage that we take into other relationships, and often, the baggage can’t be unloaded so easily, but what is a person to do?

Can a person get over their baggage, or must they suffer in silence, as they learn to deal with the baggage?

Victor and Monica discuss their experiences with baggage, and what effect it’s had on their relationships in the past.

Turning Your Baggage into Luggage... DTH Episode 139 with Donna Tashjian

Turning Your Baggage into Luggage... DTH Episode 139 with Donna Tashjian

What's "Turning Your Baggage into Luggage" mean?
When I first saw the phrase, "turning your baggage into luggage", I knew I wanted to speak with this week's guest. We all know someone, or know plenty of them, who carry around everything that's ever happened to them. All their toxic baggage keeps them down and prevents them from living their best life.

How can you turn that baggage into luggage?
You may have been taught how to cope with your fears and challenges.  You may have used willpower for a while.  But what this week's guest will teach you is how to obliterate those fears and challenges.  You will learn the tools to destroy them, not just coping mechanisms.
Donna Tashjian has been a speaker to organizations, churches, and a coach and mentor to individuals since 1990.  In 2016 Donna founded Vibrant Living International, a nonprofit organization, to help people live to their fullest potential across the world. Learn More...
