    #340: Super Ball Week

    #340: Super Ball Week

The sports world may be focused on The Big Game (TM), but we're still doling out big slices of basketball knowledge here on the pod. Discussions range from Will Wade's new contract to South Carolina's surge, from teams with serious momentum to an Ohio State autopsy, from huge wins for Butler and K State to takeaways from the weekend's Top 10 showdowns. We also quickly preview six key Saturday contests, begrudgingly acknowledge the groundbreaking Dartmouth basketball labor ruling, and - of course - talk a little NCAA officiating.

#337: Cold Outside, Hot in the Gym

#337: Cold Outside, Hot in the Gym

On this weekly edition of the 3MW pod, the fellas fight the frigid Chicago temps and dig into some scorching hoops talk. Topics include Rick Pitino's "win or frostbite" policy, why UNC is amazing + why it's silly to write off Houston, Purdue's thrashing of archrival Indiana and Zach Edey's NPOY defense, Jerome Tang's OT mastery, the American is good (but the ACC isn't), some scuffling power conference squads, and plenty more!

    #334: Christmas Ham-ming It Up

    #334: Christmas Ham-ming It Up

Happy holidays, good listeners! We're handing out a hearty bag of gifts to you all via an exceedingly long new episode. We talk buzzer beaters, best team(s) in the land (Purdue? Arizona? Houston? UConn?), banner weeks (Michigan State back?), bananas results (Nebrasketball smoked Tang's Team), bad bad Notre Dame (The Citadel by 20?!), and bushels more! We also caught up on a ton of accidentally-missed reviews at the end, some fun listener questions in there.

Briefly mixed in during our discussions, we reacted to the breaking news of Oregon State and Washington State to the WCC...

    #333: Fighting Through Finals Week

    #333: Fighting Through Finals Week

As we coast through a quiet Finals Week, the fellas gather to break down the past 7 days of basketball - and look ahead to an insane Saturday. Discussion topics include weekly winners/losers, discussions on the MVC and ACC, checking in with Ky's Lopsided Lovelies, Matt's My Guys, and plenty more!

The Weavers also briefly touch on the potential implications of the temporary restraining order filed against the NCAA to prevent restriction of eligibility. The ruling had just come out as we recorded, so we did not have a chance to discuss individual teams that are most impacted.

    #327: Futures and Predictions

    #327: Futures and Predictions

Tip-off of the season is mere days away!! Thus, the Weavers donned Halloween costumes and gathered to do some forecasting: best odds to win the title & best conference champ odds, All-American teams, and of course: Final Four and national champion picks. Will all three fall prey to Duke brainwashing, or is there a Weave resistance? Is Zach Edey going to easily lumber to another Wooden Award? If not, who can stop him? And should all be betting on...Bellarmine (?!) to win the ASUN at 20/1?? Answers abound as we stare into our crystal ball...

Adam Silver virtue signaled about Ja Morant + Fans lie about missing David Stern + Nuggets controlled all of Game 1 - Segment 1 - 6/2/23
Thank goodness the Denver Nuggets and Miami Heat have Adam Silver to protect them from any collateral damage from Ja Morant! Where would they ever be without him... Some fans are pretending to want another David Stern-like commissioner in the NBA. To what degree has pop culture (e.g. social media, music, etc.) influenced Ja Morant's clout-chasing behavior? Cole isn't giving up on the Heat just yet, but Game 1 was UGLY.

    #307: Draft Deadline - Fallout

    #307: Draft Deadline - Fallout

A wild May 31 NBA Draft deadline brought some shocking decisions. Several likely selections (Shannon! Bona! EDEY!!) returned to the college ranks, while more fringe prospects opted to leave school (Powell? Audige?). We dug into a ton of the more surprising choices, breaking down the impact on the 2023-24 season.

Winners (FAU!) and losers (Big Blue Nation, frowny face) emerged, as well, and we gave a shout to the teams that ended up faring best (or worst) on a huge day for college hoops.

To close it out, each Weaver gave his Top 5 as of June 1st!

All eyes are on James Harden because he's almost single-handedly decided every game against the Celtics - Segment 3 - 5/12/23

All eyes are on James Harden because he's almost single-handedly decided every game against the Celtics - Segment 3 - 5/12/23
If you want to know if the 76ers beat the Celtics or not, just check James Harden's box score after every game. St. Louis' very own Jayson Tatum arrived to the game 3 quarters late and still won because the Sixers came apart at the seams down the stretch. Joe, along with the city of Philadelphia, is holding James Harden responsible for Joel Embiid's disappearing act at the end of Game 6. The Houston Rockets are haunting James Harden in more ways than one. Philadelphia likely just blew a chip shot to get to the conference finals. Caller D is convinced that the Celtics are going to ride this wave to the NBA Finals.

Guest of Honor: Ohio State women's basketball star Jacy Sheldon joins the show - Segment 3 - 4/27/23

Guest of Honor: Ohio State women's basketball star Jacy Sheldon joins the show - Segment 3 - 4/27/23
Women's college basketball surged in popularity this season which was highlighted by a record breaking audience tuning into this year's NCAA tournament. Jacy Sheldon was a key piece of Ohio State's team that finished as runners-up in the Big Ten tournament as well as Elite 8 finalists in March Madness. Jacy was selected to the Seattle Regional All-tournament team, and she was kind enough to join Cover 2 to discuss the growth of the women's game, the competitiveness of the Big Ten, NIL and her surprising decision to return to Ohio State next year despite being a highly regarded WNBA prospect. Also, she claims to not read her Wikipedia page... not convinced.

Having your family listen to your radio show + Caleb Love transfers to the wrong U of M + Ravens drafting a QB? - Segment 1 - 4/7/23
Cole's family discovered that he has a radio show after Cover 2's interview with Chancellor of Colorado Phil DiStefano last week. (If you missed it, go check it out!) Joe tries to coach Cole through the path of having friends and family listen to your show. There was big news today in the St. Louis sports world! Caleb Love has made his decision on where he's transferring to, and it's U of M! No, M does not stand for Missouri. Is Juwan Howard in a good position to elevate Caleb Love's game? Also, the Ravens GM answered a question at his press conference that he really did not need to answer, and he indicated that the Ravens COULD be in play to draft a quarterback in the first round this year.

Guest of Honor: Drew King of PowerMizzou joins the show to reflect on Mizzou's basketball season + Matt's F1 "Minute" - Segment 2 - 3/24/23

Guest of Honor: Drew King of PowerMizzou joins the show to reflect on Mizzou's basketball season + Matt's F1 "Minute" - Segment 2 - 3/24/23
Drew King was the very first guest Cover 2 ever had back in November, so it's only right that he visits the show at the end of the basketball season to recap everything that's taken place for the Tigers. Matt Berger concludes the segment with Matt's F1 Minute. Berger highly recommends watching Drive to Survive on Netflix.
