The Last Sleep: Unraveling the Betrayal and Murder of Melissa Silvera

The Last Sleep: Unraveling the Betrayal and Murder of Melissa Silvera

When you tuck in for the night, the furthest thought from your mind is the possibility that it could be your last sleep. Yet, this was the grim reality for Melissa Silvira, whose death was shrouded in a web of deceit and violence. In a poignant episode that exposes the darkest corners of the human heart, I, Lav, narrate the chilling tale of betrayal that unfolded in Jamaica, shedding light on the tragic end Melissa met at the hands of her husband, Jolyan Silvera. Ballistic evidence linked the bullet fragments found in Melissa's body to Jolyan licensed firearm, unravelling what was first believed to be death by natural causes into a cold-blooded murder.

The walls of the crime scene whisper secrets of a sinister cover-up, as revealed by the drastic alterations to the room where Melissa's life was claimed. We explore the aftermath of this heinous act, the transformation of a once familiar space into an arena of false serenity. As we grapple with the sorrowful fate of the couple's young children, now left without their mother's embrace and with their father behind bars, this episode is a harrowing reminder of the ongoing struggle for the protection and safety of women. Join me as we honour Melissa's memory and question the societal norms that continue to fail the innocent.

Justine Martin is a resilience consultant, art therapist, speaker, coach, artist, author, and publisher, plus an advocate for medical care. She uses her own experiences of living with a disability to encourage others to take steps towards a positive future of their own by finding hope, overcoming adversity, and building resilience. She speaks from the heart, connecting with many audiences through her varied background in corporate, sales, art, volunteer work, and experiencing illness. She pursues any opportunity to inspire and empower members of the public, business owners, corporate teams, schools, and charitable and educational organisations. She has made many media appearances in television, radio, and print media over the years, and even ran for parliament in 2010-2013.

Her successful corporate life was turned upside down in 2011 when she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Since then, she has battled three cancers,  overcome a long list of serious medical conditions, dealt with domestic violence, and other traumas. Rather than allowing her hardship to overcome her, she has used it as a platform to inspire and make a difference in the lives of others.

When I asked Justine was is the key to her resilience and her amazing capacity to, not just overcome, but to create so much success and impact in the world, she said, be willing and open to ask for help, and then take action on the advice given. Such a simple thing, that we can all do by-the-way. This is a raw, compelling and inspiring conversation with Justine, and one that I hope will motivate you to ask for help, act on it and make the most of every second you are blessed to have on this planet. Enjoy it and please share it with as many people as you can, and believe would gain value and insight.

A Story Of Social Media, Mental Health And Being Real

A Story Of Social Media, Mental Health And Being Real

Like a rising wave, mental health problems related to social media are growing and affecting millions of people. It’s a problem that rests firmly in our hands.

Our phones entertain us. They inform us and help us quickly share and obtain information, even laughter. How we interact with each other -- and our phones -- has improved and at the same time injured our relationships, our work performance, our reputations, even our wellbeing.

Dr. Sofia Reynoso-Crow, a trained psychologist at the University Medical Center of El Paso, says our phones and social media are contributing to our anxiety and overall mental health in a way we’ve not seen before.

Research indicates that teen suicide rates have risen, in tandem, with the rise of social media. However, for every problem, there’s a solution and in many ways users are already finding ways to deal with the fabricated reality of social media.

BE STILL...AND TALK TO GOD! ( Living Lucky )

BE STILL...AND TALK TO GOD! ( Living Lucky )

We start every morning and every speech with "God, Speak to me, through me, for me, by me...Be me."

Our journey to God and Christ has been filled with doubt and uncertainty.  It has been in the moments of Faith that we have found our most profound success.

Align your desires with your decisions with your divine design.  Lisa Nichols talks about our lives being less about us and more about the people we are impacting and the reflection of that impact being the experience of our lives.  Think about that.

I believe in the gift of giving. Keep doing good. Keep doing what you can with what you have from where you are and surround yourself with people doing the same. When groups of people gather creating ripples of good, it creates waves of good.

"Wishing" is already telling your subconscious that you don't have something, that you are in a state of lack. "Wish = Won't"

    1. Believe in God. God is Real
    2. Be Still. When things get busy, slow down.
    3. Show up as your authentic self. When you show up as your true self, you give others permission to do the same.

Eat Your Veggies, Part 3: Authenticity // Jamie Nunnally

Eat Your Veggies, Part 3: Authenticity // Jamie Nunnally

What does it mean to be authentic and why is it so important for Christians to be real with one another? In this message, Pastor Jamie Nunnally shares reasons you might struggle with authenticity and keys to experiencing the benefits authenticity.

It’s so easy to hide, because we know we’re all imperfect. God’s not looking for perfection, He’s looking for connection.

    What is authenticity?
Authenticity is when your thoughts, your words, and your actions are all in agreement.
    Why aren’t we authentic?

    1. Guilt and shame.
Guilt says “what I did was wrong,” shame says “who I am is wrong.”
Genesis 3:7-10 “At that moment their eyes were opened, and they suddenly felt shame at their nakedness. So they sewed fig leaves together to cover themselves. 8When the cool evening breezes were blowing, the man and his wife heard the LORD God walking about in the garden. So they hid from the LORD God among the trees. 9Then the LORD God called to the man, “Where are you?” 10He replied, “I heard you walking in the garden, so I hid. I was afraid because I was naked.”
When you’re ashamed your first reaction is to hide. You can hide by withdrawing or by lying.

    2. Pride.
    Luke 5:29-32
"The church is not a museum for saints but a hospital for sinners."

    3. Fear.
    Hebrews 4:13
God knows the real you and He still loves you anyway.
1 John 4:18 “There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.”
If we will allow ourselves to be loved by God, fear won’t have a foothold in our lives.

    How can we become authentic?
    Honesty leads to authenticity.
    1. Be honest with yourself.
2 Corinthians 13:5 “Examine yourselves to see if your faith is genuine. Test yourselves. Surely you know that Jesus Christ is among you; if not, you have failed the test of genuine faith.”
That ability you have to judge others? That was meant for you not them.

    2. Be honest with each other.
James 5:16 “Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.”
You don’t need to tell everyone, but you need to tell someone.
If you’ll confess your thoughts, you won’t have to confess your sin as much.

    3. Be honest with God.
1 John 1:8-9 TPT “If we boast that we have no sin, we’re only fooling ourselves and are strangers to the truth. 9But if we freely admit our sins when his light uncovers them, he will be faithful to forgive us every time. God is just to forgive us our sins because of Christ, and he will continue to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

    Are you being authentic?
