It's so easy to look at our lives and see what we don't have or what's not going right but it takes maturity (and practice) to instead be thankful.  In today's episode, I share 5 reasons why being thankful is important.

What is God’s will for your life?  Pastor Jamie Nunnally shares insight from scripture about how you can know God’s will. 

You can know the will of God because you’re told to do the will of God.
Matthew 7:21 “Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter.”
Ephesians 5:17 “So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.”
 
Two incorrect ideas about God's will: 
1. Anything that happens in life is God’s perfect will. 
Jeremiah 18:7-10 
 
2. You shouldn’t do anything unless you’re 100% sure its God. 
Acts 16:10 

God’s general will to all people is revealed in His written word
Be saved: 1 Timothy 2:4 
Be thankful: 1 Thessalonians 5:18 
Do good: 1 Peter 2:15 
Be holy: 1 Thessalonians 4:3 
You’ll know the general will of God when you read the word of God.
 
God’s specific will for you is revealed through His Spirit
1 Cor. 2:9-16
You will know the specific c will of God when you embrace a walk with God.
 
Practical Tips For Making an Important Decision:
1. Search the written word. Psalm 119:105 
2. Ask for wisdom from God. James 1:5 
3. Seek wisdom from a mature friend. Proverbs 12:15
4. Let peace call the shots. Colossians 3:15 
 
“If the request is wrong, God says NO.If the timing is wrong, God says SLOW. If you are wrong, God says GROW. But if it’sHis perfect will, God says GO.” 
 
If you’ve missed God’s will, embrace rerouting
Isaiah 55:7 

Heading in the wrong direction? God allows u-turns.
 
Are you learning to discern the will of God?

Relational friction is common. Christians are called to be agents of peace. What do we need in order to get along with other Christians? I. Prioritize peace. II. Live under the rule of peace. III. Cultivate the aid to peace. 

David - the famous king of Israel - the one all other kings were compared to.  David was a man after God's heart according to God Himself.  God said that David would do all that He commanded him to.  David experienced so much and had so much.  We see in Psalm 119 David's passionate expression of how he felt about God's word.  But, do you realize that you and I have experienced things that David never did?  We have the whole Bible.  We know about Jesus and his death and resurrection whereas David at best only saw this from afar.  In this message we use David as an example to prepare ourselves to share communion.  Listen to be encouraged and challenged.
