Lot of terrible @stlouisblues fans showing their true #racist colors in posts made on @instagram blaming #nazemkadri for putting #jordanbinnington out of the #stanleycupplayoffs just disgusting.  And congrats on your #hattrick last night Mr. Kadri in the 6-3 @coloradoavalanche win to go up 3-1 on the Blues.
@tblightning held #presidentscup winner @flapanthers to 3 goals in the 4 game sweep.  3rd straight #easternconferencefinals and 10th straight series win for the Lightning after 2-0 win yesterday and the 6th #shutout in a series clinching game for goalie #andreivasilevskiy
@yankees first 3 game losing streak of season 6-4 to @orioles with #gerritcole giving up 4 runs in 3rd and wasting two #homeruns by #aaronjudge who has 17 in 40 games now.  He’s betting on himself and winning this season.
    @mets win 13-3 @sfgiants and #petealonso has 40 RBI’s in 44 games.  Mets are 29-15.
Love the @sec thinking of going to a #sec only playoff.   @texasfootball & @ou_football will be joining soon enough. #collegefootballplayoff should be at least 8 teams anyway.
@miamiheat got blown out by @celtics last night with #jimmybutler scoring 6 and all five Heat starters scoring a total of 18 points. Yikes.
How about the @lvaces blew out the @la_sparks last night in @wnba action.  6th straight win, 7-1 overall.  New coach @officialbeckyhammon getting it done and @aja22wilson looking for that first ring and @kelseyplum10 lighting it up from outside.

Today's show with Florida Sports Man.  He spoke on the podcast about the OKC coaching vacancy should go to Becky Hammon.  I love it.
Jets 0-4 for second straight year.  37 points to a third straight QB in his first NFL start.  Deplorable.
NBA and WNBA finals tonight.  Heat are in trouble without Dragic and Bam. AD and Lebron are looking unstoppable. Get those brooms ready.
College Football back tomorrow and we both like Iowa State upsetting Oklahoma at home.  Lincoln Riley could be coaching in Dallas this year instead of Norman.

Congrats to Corin Adams for becoming only the fifth women to be named an assistant on a Men's college basketball team.  She will be joining my buddy's alma mater Loyola University Maryland.  Go Greyhounds!
Yankees swept the Indians in the longest postseason game ever.  Almost 5 hours and I was up at 1am watching it.  Gary Sanchez almost gave me a heart attack with his passed ball on what would have been the game ending strikeout.  What doesn't kill us only makes us stronger, right?
Broncos over the Jets tonight 9-6.  Sorry Harris but I see the Jets starting the season 0-4 for the second year in a row.

Roberto Clemente Day in the MLB.  A man who put others before himself.
Jalen Ramsey now the highest paid DB in NFL history.  Sunday night home opener for the Cowboys.  Hopefully Amari Cooper is healthy to line up across from Ramsey.
So my predictions for this NFL season.  Giants 7-9, Jets 6-10.  Ravens over Saints 45-35 in the Superbowl.  Hopefully they'll get rid of Adam Gase.

POWER PLAYERS 004 - Courtney Banghart

POWER PLAYERS 004 - Courtney Banghart

“It’s not about survival of the fittest, it is: survival of the ‘most adaptive’" - Courtney Banghart channels Charles Darwin.

After having accumulated, in her twelve years as head coach of Princeton University's women's basketball program, seven Ivy League titles, eight NCAA Tournament births, and a Naismith National Coach of the Year award, Courtney Banghart packed up her family and headed south on I-95 to Chapel Hill. After inking that chapter in the story of her life, Banghart, a year ago, began to write a new one as head coach of the University of North Carolina's women's basketball team. We'll discuss the build-up to that difficult decision and her professional growth because of it.

Through a coach's lens, we discuss the impact of COVID-19 on collegiate and professional basketball.

    COLLEGIATE:

    • How are off-season programs, with gyms closed, affected?
    • What is it's the impact on scouting and recruiting?
    • NCAA's decision to cancel March Madness
    • 5th year of eligibility?

    PROFESSIONAL:

    • Effect on WNBA's scheduling, draft, and overseas players
    • AND, if she were to be stuck in quarantine with any living athlete, who would it be?

    We'll also tackle:

    • Has she met Michael Jordan yet?!
    • Advice to former Princeton Tiger Bella Alarie as she gets set to have her name called on draft night.
    • Why does Becky Hammon keep getting passed over in Gregg Popovich's absence?
    • 1/3 of all NBA teams employ a woman on their coaching staffs
    • Does she have professional coaching aspirations?

POWER PLAYERS 003 - Danita Johnson

POWER PLAYERS 003 - Danita Johnson

“Don’t be afraid to ask for it” - Danita Johnson, President and COO of the Los Angeles Sparks

A meteoric rise over 14 years in basketball to the office of president and COO of a major market professional organization, Danita offers a valuable, front-office perspective on a wide variety of pertinent topics in sports: the USWNT's fight for Equal Pay, the new WNBA CBA, the Sparks as a ‘multi-dimensional company', how revenue streams differ from her experience in an NBA front office to a WNBA front office, ways to increase the visibility of the game, and ways to increase star player marketability.

    We'll also tackle:

    • The Kobe Bryant Effect on women’s professional sports; is there an LA Sparks tribute in the works?
    • The impact of COVID-19 on the WNBA’s upcoming season: could the WNBA as a league, economically, sustain stretches of games without fannies in the seats?
    • The absence of merchandise in sporting goods stores, especially those who take an active, PR-style role in the WNBA championship series.
    • Kristi Toliver and Becky Hammon ‘infiltrating’ the NBA’s coaching ranks. What about Hammon being skipped over for the likes of Tim Duncan on Gregg Popovich's staff?

    Featuring listener questions from:

Genna in Miami asks about Kobe's impact and which NBA player will take the reigns  in carrying out his goal to promote the women's game
