UFC 288 Recap! Round-Up with Paul Felder & Michael Chiesa

UFC 288 Recap! Round-Up with Paul Felder & Michael Chiesa

Paul Felder and Michael Chiesa are back at it again on this episode of UFC Round-Up!

To start off the show, the guys give their initial thoughts and takeaways from this past Saturday’s UFC 288 PPV, as Aljamain Sterling defended his bantamweight belt in a decision victory over Henry Cejudo.

Then, the duo answer 5 rounds of fan questions.

    1. Why doesn’t Cejudo go up to 145 to fight a top contender for a chance at a title shot there?

    2. Do you think this fight would’ve been any different had Gilbert Burns had his left?

    3. Knowing Colby Covington’s fight frequency, do you think Belal should root for Leon Edwards to win? If Colby gets the belt, Belal is looking at a 2 year wait time.

    4. Does the UFC delay Zhang Weili and Yan Xiaonan until they can hold an event in China or do they just go for it? If not Xiaonan, who should Zhang Weili fight next?

    5. When not in camp or training for a triathlon, what’s your go to spread when watching pay-per-views at home, including drink choices?

To wrap up the show, the guys give some closing thoughts from UFC 288, including Merab Dvalishvili wearing Sean O’Malley’s red jacket in the cage immediately following Aljamain Sterling’s win.

Aljamain Sterling reacts to win vs. Cejudo, UFC 288 recap w/ guest co-host Ray Longo

Jim Norton takes part in the Serra-Longo Fight Team’s victory Monday as today’s episode of UFC Unfiltered calls upon bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling for nearly 20 minutes alongside Matt Serra and guest co-host Ray Longo.

As the guys dive straight into Sterling’s UFC 288 win over former bantamweight king Henry Cejudo, Aljo discusses the mid-fight adjustments that were necessary to stave off the former Olympic gold medalist’s valiant effort during last Saturday night’s PPV headliner in New Jersey.

Sterling then dishes his thoughts on Sean O’Malley hopping into the cage immediately after his win as Ray Longo cracks up thinking about how Aljo’s good friend and sparring partner Merab Dvalishvili stole the show by climbing up the cage wearing O’Malley’s bright red jacket.

Speaking of the Serra-Longo Fight Team, Matt and Ray sing lightweight Matt Frevola’s praises after the “Steamrolla” successfully detonated his third straight 1st-round KO with a beautifully-placed punch that earned him a $50,000 post-fight bonus and a callout acceptance from Paddy “The Baddy” Pimblett.

The guys wrap up the show with the rest of their thoughts on the UFC 288 card and some analysis on how Henry Cejudo stacks up in a potential fight with Merab Dvalishvili.

UFC 288 Preview! Round-Up with Paul Felder & Michael Chiesa

Paul Felder and Michael Chiesa are back at it again on this episode of UFC Round-Up!

To start off the show, the guys preview Saturday’s UFC 288 main event as former bantamweight and flyweight champion Henry Cejudo comes out of retirement to fight current bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling. The pair also make their picks for the fight.

Then, the duo answer 5 rounds of fan questions.

    1.      If Henry beats Aljo, does he call out Volk in his post-fight speech?

    2.      Does Sean O’Malley have better odds of beating Sterling or Cejudo for the next title matchup at 135?

    3.      With less than a month turnaround for Gilbert Burns, is this an advantage or disadvantage?

    4.      What lessons did you learn as an MMA fighter that helped you in your post-fighting career?

    5.      If Jessica Andrade wins on Saturday, does she get the title shot or is she next in line after the rematch between Alexa Grasso and Valentina Shevchenko? Is Song Yadong the bantamweight prospect in the top 5 that no one wants to fight? Who has the edge in the 5 round co-main event on Saturday from a cardio standpoint?

Guest co-host Michael Chiesa on UFC 288, Cejudo’s return to stacked bantamweight division

With Matt Serra flying back from London during the taping of today’s UFC Unfiltered episode, welterweight Michael Chiesa steps in alongside Jim Norton as today’s co-host.

After beginning the show with an update on his physical health after a lengthy layoff, Chiesa follows up with his desired plans for what’s next in the cage following the cancellation of his return fight against Li Jingliang due to his opponent’s injury.

After a brief chat about Saturday’s UFC Fight Night: Song vs. Simon card, Jim shifts the topic towards Saturday’s UFC 288 card, Chiesa provides his detailed opinion on what’s in store for former two-division champion Henry Cejudo as he makes his return to a stacked bantamweight division against champion Aljamain Sterling.

As Chiesa wraps up his thoughts on the main event with a prediction for the fight, the guys wrap up the show by unpacking the circumstances surrounding the short-notice co-main event between welterweight contenders Belal Muhammad and Gilbert Burns.

Din’s Got Answers: UFC 286 madness, what is the biggest upset in UFC history & who deserves the next welterweight title shot with Belal Muhammad

Din’s Got Answers: UFC 286 madness, what is the biggest upset in UFC history & who deserves the next welterweight title shot with Belal Muhammad

After one of the biggest rematches in the history of the UFC, we are here with an episode of Din Thomas’ new podcast, Din’s Got Answers!

    A little about the show:

Got questions about the UFC? Well, Din Thomas is here to answer them. Din will use his experience as a UFC veteran, analyst, comedian, coach to the biggest names in the sport, co-star of Dana White: Lookin’ for a Fight, host of The Din Diaries, and more to answer your questions about everything and anything UFC related.

On this episode, Din answers three questions.

First, what’s up with all the madness at UFC 286? Second, what is the biggest upset in UFC history? And third, who deserves the next title shot in the welterweight division? Plus, an additional topic, as Din answers questions from the fans!

What’s up with all the madness at UFC 286? The event proved to be exciting and lived up to the hype, as Leon Edwards retained his welterweight title against former champion Kamaru Usman. Din recaps the card and drops his answers to everything that happened at UFC 286.

What is the biggest upset in UFC history? Din has his answer. He looks at the 5 biggest upsets in UFC history in no particular order and picks one. See which upsets made his list and tune in to hear Din’s answer.

Who deserves the next title shot in the welterweight division? Din has his answer. To help answer this question, Din hollers at his homie, welterweight contender Belal Muhammad. Belal gives his take on why he deserves a title shot next, explains why Colby Covington doesn’t deserve a title shot next, and discusses who he’d potentially like to fight next. You won’t want to miss Din and Belal’s answers!

To wrap up the show, Din answers fan questions in rapid style. So keep them coming and hit up Din on Twitter (@DinThomas) or Instagram (dinthomas).

    Enjoy the show!

UFC 286 Recap! Round-Up with Paul Felder & Michael Chiesa

UFC 286 Recap! Round-Up with Paul Felder & Michael Chiesa

Paul Felder and Michael Chiesa are back at it again on this episode of UFC Round-Up!

The guys recap this past Saturday’s UFC 286 fight card, including Leon Edwards’ decision win against Kamaru Usman as he defended his welterweight belt and they also preview Edwards’ next title defense against Colby Covington. Next, the pair discuss the war in the co-main event, as lightweight Justin Gaethje beat Rafael Fiziev by decision in a Fight of the Night performance. After that, the guys give a shoutout to flyweight Muhammad Mokaev for sacrificing his knee in a submission win over Jafel Filho. Then, the duo touch on featherweight Lerone Murphy’s impressive win against Gabriel Santos. Following that, the guys hit on middleweight Marvin Vettori’s future after his win vs. Roman Dolidze.

For the rest of the show, the pair answer 5 rounds of fan questions.

    1.      Who’s next for Jack Shore now that he’s at featherweight and who should take his number 15 spot in the bantamweight rankings?

    2.      Did Kamaru Usman seem a step behind from his previous performances or was Leon Edwards so technically brilliant that he was able to shut down Usman's offense before he could initiate his game plan effectively?

    3.      Break down the confusion of the ref taking the point away and not giving the position back in the Usman vs. Edwards fight?

    4.      Who should Kamaru Usman fight next?

    5.      Your opinion on Colby Covington getting the next title shot over Belal Muhammad and after Justin Gaethje’s win who do we put up for the title shot at lightweight?
