This coat is symbolic of the firstborn inheritance and blessing. We discover the power of the blessing on Joseph’s life despite many trials and tribulations. The blessing on him continues to work in his favor and helping him reach his destiny. As believers in Yeshua, we too receive a blessing because of God’s firstborn son. We receive the blessing of Abraham because of the obedience of Jesus Christ. Galations 3:13,14)

Amos 5 v 1 Hear ye this word which I take up against you, even a lamentation, O house of Israel.

The focal message in the book of Amos is that God sees his people on the same level as He views the nations and as a result He expects the same level of purity from them.

Amos is a special book as it emphasises a particular message about God execution of justice and judgment over nations specifically that of Israel and Judah. However concerning the Israelites, Amos had a special message them as God had chosen and sent him to preach to them.

In this study we are going to examine Amos’s understanding of what it meant to both live for and to seek God.

As it was written Amos message  was call to repentance for Israel as a result of its to sins and to likewise seek to be spared of God’s punishment and severe judgment. Despite the many prophets that were sent and the many warnings. God had to punish Israel due to the many sin and her failure to repent from her many social and religious sins.

The main cities identified by Amos that were guilty of practicing religious sins and wickedness were Bethel, Gilgal, and Beersheba.. This is where Israel’s idol worshiping was practiced until it evoked social sins in the community.
God never wanted harm to come to Israel several times He begged her to obey his commandments as a consequence of Israel’s disobedience and sins God caused the nation to be captivated by other nations. This was documented by Amos.

Concluding the meaning of the word seek in the start of our study Amos 5:4-6. For Amos, it implied that seeking God was equivalent to seeking goodness and engaging in justice and rightness. And ensuring that God is worshipped In spirit and truth by seeking the word of the Lord (Amos 5:14,15; 8:12). 
Through this God’s assurance as He had promised Israel would have been “you may live”. The word “live” would have been Israel’s renewed for abstinence from sins. We are called to bask in God’s mercy as children of God and eventually be with Him through eternal life in heaven.

Job Chapter 23

1 Then Job answered and said,
2 Even to day is my complaint bitter: my stroke is heavier than my groaning.
3 Oh that I knew where I might find him! that I might come even to his seat!
4 I would order my cause before him, and fill my mouth with arguments.
5 I would know the words which he would answer me, and understand what he would say unto me.
6 Will he plead against me with his great power? No; but he would put strength in me.
7 There the righteous might dispute with him; so should I be delivered for ever from my judge.
8 Behold, I go forward, but he is not there; and backward, but I cannot perceive him:
9 On the left hand, where he doth work, but I cannot behold him: he hideth himself on the right hand, that I cannot see him:
10 But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.
11 My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined.
12 Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.
13 But he is in one mind, and who can turn him? and what his soul desireth, even that he doeth.
14 For he performeth the thing that is appointed for me: and many such things are with him.
15 Therefore am I troubled at his presence: when I consider, I am afraid of him.
16 For God maketh my heart soft, and the Almighty troubleth me:
17 Because I was not cut off before the darkness, neither hath he covered the darkness from my face.

2 Kings 4:8-37 – Elisha and the Shunammite Woman
Let us discuss the story of Elisha and the Shunammite woman in 2 Kings 4:8-37. Today the world is a different place people are busy solving there problems with their money. However the Bible has documented several events today we are going to look at Shunammite Woman she was also a wealthy woman who knew she had an encounter with God. She had humbly provided accommodation for Elisha the man of God on several occasions. However this time around God was about to visit her. She know Elisha was a holy man of God, she would provide the prophet with a hot meal and a place to stay. God rewarded this woman and gave her a miracle, her own child.
How do we treat our fellow brothers and sisters in the faith in this era? We meet people daily at times God might allow you to meet His servant and unfortunately we fail the test and miss the blessing. This Shunammite woman was a wise woman and the Lord gave her a son. One day the boy died suddenly. She didn’t hesitate she carried his body and laid him on the bed of Elisha, she then shut the door, and left without a word nor tear.
Can you see yourself having this kind of faith in this time? When the pride of life has reach the very nostril of God. It is interesting to see how people behave and react in different situations. Amazingly, she did not cry nor get troubled, as you would expect from a woman in this situation because she had so much trust in God and His capabilities. Do you have that trust today? Can God trust you with His servant, are you ready to receive a miracle? Do you believe that God can do anything?
She lost her only son however when she was questioned by her husband and Elisha’s servant, Gehazi, her response was, “It is well! Everything is fine! It is all right!”
She did not call for help, instead she went to the mountain Mount Carmel to find the man of God Elisha. Upon seeing this woman’s heart God used his servant Elisha. The man of God prayed and laid hands on the boy. The boy came back to life sneezed seven times and opened his eyes.
