    Tania Howard, Founder and Executive Director of the 7th Waimea Ocean Film Festival talks about how one film she saw and then brought to Hawaii has turned into a world class Film Festival with over 60 films, breakfast talks, Q & A, exhibits and more.

    Howard talks about the venues for the 2017 Waimea Ocean Film Festival Jan. 2-5 in Waimea and Mauna Kea and Jan. 6-10 at Four Seasons Resort Hualalai. Festival categories include: ocean experience including surfing & paddling; ocean environment, including what we do on land; and, Hawaiian and other island cultures, history and people.

    Kama'aiana Passes will be available at waimaoceanfilm.org where Howard suggests visiting and downloading last years program to get overview of the festival activities while the 2017 films are being selected.

    Tom Sursely, Mauna Lani Resort Director of Golf, Nao Tomashiro, Golf Operations Manager talk about the 93rd Big Island Amateur that will be on the Francis H I'i Brown North Course August 13-14 for Big Island Amateurs with a handicap of 14 or less. Entry deadline is August 7 and cost is $175. They talk about the golf legacy at Mauna Lani including the Senior Skins from 1990-2000 and the Hawaii State Open each December. Jeff Keyes, PGA Pro talks about the Mauna Lani Golf Academy and the clinics they offer juniors, men and women.

    Rich Bell, Bike Works talks about the Hawaii Cycling Club Sea to Stars Cycle race on August 6. The 46 mile race from Waikoloa Road to Visitor Information Center on Mauna Kea has a 9000+ foot elevation gain. Rich welcomes volunteers for the aid stations for Sea to Stars or any of the Hawaii Cycling Club events at hawaiicycling.com.
