Aiga Senftleben, Co-Founder von Billie

In unserer Mittagsfolge begrüßen wir heute Aiga Senftleben, Co-Founder von Billie, und sprechen über das Investment von rund 86 Millionen Euro (100 Mio. US-Dollar) sowie den Einstieg des schwedischen "Buy Now, Pay Later"-Anbieter Klarna.

Einst als Factoring-Startup gestartet, ist Billie nun ein Anbieter von BNPL- Bezahlmethoden für Unternehmen und bietet B2B-Unternehmen innovative digitale Bezahldienste. Das in Berlin gegründete Fintech soll es den Unternehmen ermöglichen, durch moderne Checkout-Lösungen einfach und bequem zu den eigenen Konditionen zu bezahlen und bezahlt zu werden. Billie wurde 2016 von den ehemaligen Gründern von Christian Grobe, Mattias Knecht und Aiga Senftleben gegründet.

Der chinesische Tech-Konzern Tencent, sowie Klarna, Lead-Investor Dawn Capital aus Großbritannien und Oliver Samwer stiegen jetzt in das Startup ein. Durch das Investment steigt die Bewertung von Billie auf etwa 550 Millionen Euro. Doch das Eigenkapital ist nicht alles, dazu kommt eine Kreditlinie von 170 Millionen Euro, die die Vereinigte Volksbank Raiffeisenbank, Raisin und Varengold gemeinsam bereitstellen. Bisherige Investoren sind SpeedInvest, Creandum und Picus Capital. Mit der Finanzierung im Rücken plant das Berliner Fintech seinen Service nun verstärkt ins europäische Ausland zu bringen. Dabei soll vor allem eine Kooperation mit dem Neu-Investor Klarna helfen.

• Taking a look around the world, stocks were largely higher in Asia and Europe and are looking somewhat mixed in the United States. There are a host of technology earnings coming this week, mind.
• Facebook is taking all sorts of incoming fire from media reporting on a trove of documents that a whistleblower leaked. The company is not having a good month, let along quarter from a PR perspective. It reports earnings later today. Here's the NYTimes piece we noted, the Bloomberg article, the CNN piece, and the Verge entry.
• The PayPal-Pinterest deals is done for now. PayPal said so this morning. Its shares are up, while Pinterest shares are sharply lower.
• And from startup-land: Routine is a new app that looks slick, Billie raised $100 million, Tier raised a huge bloc of cash, and Groww just tripled its valuation.

It's going to be a busy one, so strap in and get hype because it is earnings week.
