Working Genius Part 2 with Tim Lyons

Working Genius Part 2 with Tim Lyons

#203: Today is Part 2 of Tim Lyons and I explaining Pat Lencioni’s Working Genius model.

Tim is certified and passionate in this model created by Lencioni and worked with him at The Table Group.

Here is a brief overview of Working Genius:

Everyone has natural, God-given talents when it comes to work. As it turns out, there are six different types of talents, or geniuses, and each of them is required for accomplishing any kind of endeavor.

Each of us have two that are considered our true gifts. Two are considered frustrations and the other two are just meh.

Knowing where you are strong and where there are gaps, both as an individual and as part of a team, can be helpful in taking things to the next level.

Listen in as Tim and I discuss specific examples of results and pairings.

We talk about how to use the information to maximize your career and success.

    Amplify Your Revenue

    Amplify Your Revenue

#201: I was honored to be asked to write a Feature Article for Personal Fitness Professional’s last print issue.

I made a post on Instagram about it saying how it was bittersweet.

You see, I came up in the fitness industry reading articles from experts who would later become my mentors and friends in some cases. I’m “old school” so I enjoy hard copy rather than digital when it comes to reading.

Anyway, PFP (Personal Fitness Professional) gave me the option of writing an article helping fit pros improve their finances through maximizing their revenue (i.e. sales) or finding out where over and under spending are occurring.

    I couldn’t decide so I wrote both!

In today’s episode, my temporary co-host, Tim Lyons, joins me and actually reads the article called Amplify Your Revenue. Included are e effective sales strategies to elevate your fitness business success.

We then dive into the key points and go deeper in a way that I couldn’t have done in the article alone!

Would love to know what you think of both the article and the format!

Let me know your biggest takeaway!

    186. Making College Affordable- An Interview with Thom Golden pt. 2

    186. Making College Affordable- An Interview with Thom Golden pt. 2

Last week we had Dr. Thom Golden on as we started a conversation on college admissions.

Today is Part 2 where we get into the nitty gritty.

It might seem like college has gotten so expensive and is getting out of reach or “not worth it.”

While even Dr. Thom shares that it’s an individual decision, there is more upside to the equation.

Find out about the “best price” of college which is different from the sticker price and how it’s actually trending down.

While there are the Stanfords of the world that have an extremely low acceptance rate, most colleges are NOT super selective.

While the parent portion of the college debt load averages out to 29K, there are many ways to avoid this scenario.

Tune in for an interview chock full of powerful tips on saving money and maximizing the experience.

Much of this information will be useful whether you have kids entering college or not.

    160. The 3 Most Common Financial Mistakes Fit Pros Make

    160. The 3 Most Common Financial Mistakes Fit Pros Make

I was recently interviewed by Dustin Bogle of Gym Reinforcements.

Honestly, I’ve lost count of how many podcasts I’ve been on but this was one of my favorite interviews.

That show will drop in early April most likely and I’ll certainly share it when it does.

For now, I recorded a short episode where I cover the 3 most common Financial Mistakes Fit Pros Make

Here is my advice to you. More revenue DOES solve a lot of problems but if your gym isn’t profitable and/or you’re not paying yourself properly when you’re small, you won’t magically fix all of that just by bumping your revenue.

It is NOT uncommon to see gyms doing as much as 20K per month without much to show for it.

Listen to this episode, apply what you learn, and teach it to others.

    Let’s all grow together!
