AGL 063: Dave Bittner from the CyberWire Podcast

    About Dave

Dave Bittner is the producer and host of the CyberWire podcast, a top-rated daily cyber security news program produced in Baltimore. He’s been tinkering with electronics practically his whole life, cobbling together a computer system to dial in to pre-internet BBS systems at the age of ten with the money he saved from his paper route. After college (University of Maryland, Radio TV and Film) he was among the pioneers of desktop digital video, cofounding Pixel Workshop, an award winning digital media production company in Columbia, MD. Following twenty years as an entrepreneur, he was lured away by one of his clients, CyberPoint International, to help support their mission of protecting what’s invaluable in cyberspace. The CyberWire was spun off from CyberPoint in early 2016, and since then he has been working with a talented team of creative and technical professionals to make sure the Cyberwire Daily Podcast maintains its leadership position in the industry for quality, integrity and relevance.

Dave Bittner lives in Columbia, MD, with his wife, two sons, and a dog.

    EP.56-Toys, Quinn, Davis, and Bittner

    EP.56-Toys, Quinn, Davis, and Bittner

This years Toys for Tots toy collection was out of this world!!! We collected a record breaking amount of toys between The Beards of the Old Northwest, Rustbelt Whisker Society, and the Steel City Beard and Mustache Club  at Camelot Lanes in Boardman, Ohio.  The only unfortunate thing that happened that evening was this boneheaded podcaster didn't hook up his recorder properly and I lost all my interviews with everyone from the evening.  I am such an idiot! To make up for the lost footage I found a fun chat session with Patrick Quinn and Jeff Bittner with an added splash of Crystal Davis.  Hope you enjoy our crazy night at the Super 8!

Eero is  someone that choose to carve his own path in snowboarding (pardon the pun), by branching out on his own projects such as his tv show tracking Eero or his web series cooking with gas. From our discussion with Eero, I can tell that he’s calculated, organized and a planner - the process that he describes going through for each trick at street spot was eye opening to me! It’s a very time consuming, focused methodology, I don’t want to ruin it, but I’ll just say that he does not pull up to a spot, shovel some snow and decide what to do.

Eero tells us about cycling 100 miles a day for seven days in a row, the state of his knee injuries, his favorite junk food. We also get into why Eero's backing the preferred swimming attire of the European Union.
