Ben Wells / BLACK STONE CHERRY
Southern Rockers of Black Stone Cherry are back - with a new record called "Screamin at the Sky" and a new bass player called Steve Jewell. In our exclusive ROCK ANTENNE interview, we talked to guitarist Ben Wells about their new album and how (and where) they worked on it, about how Steve fits in with the band - and when we might expect Black Stone Cherry back on German stages. Enjoy!

CAT Episode 159 - Black Stone Cherry

CAT Episode 159 - Black Stone Cherry

Black Stone Cherry was formed in 2001 by childhood friends who have released 8 rockin' studio albums every since.  Nearly 20 singles have landed on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart.  Born and raised in Kentucky, their sound is Southern Rock with a harder edge.  Multi-award winning program director Ray White caught up with co-founders Chris Robertson and John Fred Young on their tour bus before a show in June of 2023.  The guys provided insights on their music career, the magic of June 4th and their brand new album Screamin' At The Sky.  In our showcase segment, we feature the Blues Rock & Boogie band Foghat, who also have a new album, Sonic Mojo, dropping soon!  We finish out our show remembering former UFO member and co-founder of Whitesnake, Bernie Marsden, who passed away on August 24, 2023.  Get strapped in...we'll rock you on this episode of Classic Artists Today's "Sittin' in with the CAT"!

    04: Black Stone Cherry

    04: Black Stone Cherry
Black Stone Cherry's upcoming album "Family Tree" is - just like the name suggests - all about family: recorded at home in Kentucky, mixed and produced by the band themselves - and even the youngest family members get to play their part! (Or sing their part, as in this case). Chris and Ben further elaborate on touring, the very important difference between Whiskey and Bourbon and their regular troubles with the German selection of drinks.
