Brad Richards on The Cam & Strick Podcast

On this episode, the boys are joined by a guy with 2 Stanley Cups, from 2 different teams, over 10 years apart. On top of a Conn Smythe, Richards played over 1,100 games scoring 932 points including 2 91-point seasons. He joins the show and breaks down his $60 MILLION dollar contract with the Rangers and the eventual buyout, winning it all with both Chicago and Tampa, plus just how Brutal Jon Cooper's training camps were. Before the interview the boys get into the Rempe/Reaves showdown, why the Flames haven’t retired Al MacInnis’ number, some deadline speculation and much more.

Steve Larmer on The Cam & Strick Podcast

Steve Larmer on The Cam & Strick Podcast

On this episode the boys are joined by Stanley cup champion and FUTURE hall of famer (in our opinion) Steve Larmer. After getting taken in the 6th round of the 1980 NHL draft, the long time Chicago Blackhawk would go on to win rookie of the year and play over 1000 games, and finish 6 points over a point per game. He talks to us about guys smoking cigs while playing, how competitive Ed Belfour was, how he was almost traded for Big Eric Lindros and much more. Before the interview the boys get into the Columbus regime change, Auston Matthews having a shot at 70 goals, and the Penguins absolutely killing it with the Jagr jersey retirement.

Jaccob Slavin on The Cam & Strick Podcast

On this episode the boys are joined by one of the best defensive D-men in the NHL, Jaccob Slavin. The former Lady Byng winner's point totals won’t pop off the score sheet, but there’s very few guys coaches would rather have on their blue line. Who we are

Block Club Chicago is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit news organization dedicated to delivering reliable, relevant and nonpartisan coverage of Chicago's diverse neighborhoods. We believe all neighborhoods deserve to be covered in a meaningful way.

We amplify positive stories, cover development and local school council meetings and serve as watchdogs in neighborhoods often ostracized by traditional news media.

    Ground-level coverage

Our neighborhood-based reporters don't parachute in once to cover a story. They are in the neighborhoods they cover every day building relationships over time with neighbors. We believe this  ground-level approach not only builds community but leads to a more accurate portrayal of a  neighborhood.

Stories that matter to you — every day

Since our launch five years ago, we've published more than 25,000 stories from the neighborhoods, covered hundreds of community meetings and send daily and neighborhood newsletters to more than 130,000 Chicagoans.

We've built this loyalty by proving to folks we are not only covering their neighborhoods, we are a part of them.

Some of us have internalized the national media's narrative of a broken Chicago. We aim to change that by celebrating our neighborhoods and chronicling the resilience of the people who fight every day to make Chicago a better place for all.
