Not only did he captain team USA, but he scored the game winning goal against the Soviets in a game that would spawned multiple movies, a handful of books, and a became a staple in hockey, American, and sports history. Mike talks about how he became captain of team USA, why he never went to the NHL, his thoughts on the movie, and much more. Miguel Esparza didn’t grow up wanting to be in broadcasting. Nevertheless, he is now the Spanish broadcaster for the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Blackhawks, Chicago Bears, and Chicago Bulls. 

“I had no clue whatsoever what I wanted to do,” Esparza said. “I knew one thing: I didn’t want to go to college. I was done with school. Honestly, I wanted to be a singer.”
