With the new year around the corner, Matt and Jim are joined by award-winning combat sports journalist Kevin Iole and the great Michael Irvin for the final episode of the year — one that sees the guys hand out their awards for the best UFC moments of 2023!

The guys waste no time bringing on Iole to help dive into several different categories for the best of 2023 — including upset of the year, fight of the year, fighter of the year, submission of the year, and others!

Shortly after Iole leaves, Pro Football Hall of Fame wide receiver Michael Irvin makes his triumphant return to UFC Unfiltered with emphatic energy. Matt and Jim find themselves captivated by Irvin’s extremely quotable phrases as they catch up with the former Dallas Cowboys legend in an insightful conversation that touches on how MMA has seen a spike in overall athleticism.

Was Saturday’s card the best non-pay-per-view card of the year? If today’s show is any indication, then absolutely! On today’s episode of UFC Unfiltered, Jim Norton and Matt Serra receive a short-notice surprise appearance from lightweight Arman Tsarukyan as he reacts to his big win; with Jack Osbourne calling as the second guest caller towards the end of the show.

After putting on a sensational performance in his 1st-round knockout win over Beneil Dariush, Tsarukyan explains the reasons why he believes he deserves to be the next challenger for Islam Makhachev’s lightweight title before listing other non-title fight opponents he’d consider if the UFC’s next 155-pound title fight went in a different direction.

Jim and Matt weigh in on the rest of Saturday’s fights, including their thoughts on the unnecessary punishment Bobby Green took from Jalin Turner in the co-main event and the back-to-back 1st-round slam knockout wins we saw from Drakkar Klose and Cody Brundage.

Finally, the guys are joined by Jack Osbourne — who shares an exciting update about his jiu-jitsu journey before filling the guys in on his latest endeavor as the host of his “Ghosts and Grit” podcast.

Just three days remain until one of the most stacked non-PPV cards in UFC history comes to Austin, Texas! So, with that in mind, Jim Norton and Matt Serra are joined by a pair of fighters from Saturday’s card in former title challenger Kelvin Gastelum and lightweight Drakkar Klose.

Making his return to welterweight for the first time in nearly seven years, Kelvin Gastelum joins Unfiltered to talk at length about the lessons he’s learned from previous issues with weight cutting.

Confident from the durability he has shown against hard-hitting middleweights, Gastelum explains what he expects from 9th-ranked welterweight Sean Brady in their fight on Saturday before discussing how his significant experience edge over Brady comes with a string of injuries that have changed Gastelum's approach to training camps.

Later on, the guys are joined by Drakkar Klose — who shares his excitement over the upcoming birth of his second son before ultimately sharing his thoughts on what it’s like to fight an opponent who shares the same manager as him.

Jim and Matt wrap up the episode by making predictions for the majority of Saturday’s card.

The boys recap this past weekends UFC card UFC Vegas 80 as Grant Dawson gets knocked out by Bobby Green in the headlining spot. With UFC Fight Night: Dawson vs. Green being a matter of days away, Jim Norton and Matt Serra are joined by one half of Saturday's main event as UFC lightweight Grant Dawson joins an episode of UFC Unfiltered that also features NFL-player turned MMA super fan Ryan Clark.

At the very beginning of the show, Matt is pleased to find out that Grant Dawson is as big of a Star Wars fan as him — leading to a passionate conversation about the characters and storylines that live inside of the all-time classic franchise's multimedia universe.

Before wrapping up his interview, the UFC's 10th-ranked lightweight Dawson shares some of his thoughts on what it means to be headlining his first UFC main event against a tough veteran like Bobby Green who fights with a unique, one-of-a-kind style inside the cage.

Shortly after, the guys are joined by retired 13-year NFL veteran Ryan Clark, who begins his conversation with Jim and Matt by explaining how a lifelong football player from Louisiana discovered a passion for consuming martial arts during Chuck Liddell's reign as UFC light heavyweight champion. It’s UFC 291 fight week! With just three days until Saturday’s explosive card, Jim and Matt are joined by a pair of fighters on the PPV main card in lightweight Tony Ferguson and light heavyweight Jan Błachowicz.

Joining the show first is Tony Ferguson, who has a message for those trying to write off the 39-year-old’s career as a martial artist and shares how he’s reset his focus going into Saturday’s fight against Bobby Green.

The guys then make some picks from UFC 291’s card before former light heavyweight champion Jan Błachowicz hops on the show ahead of his fight in Saturday’s co-main event.

Błachowicz speaks on the ever-changing state of the light heavyweight division and iterates his desire to fight for the title once again provided he beats Alex Pereira in the former middleweight champion’s debut at 205 pounds.

Once Błachowicz leaves, Jim and Matt wrap up the show with picks for the light heavyweight co-main and the BMF belt main event between lightweight contenders Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje.

UFC middleweight contender Jared Cannonier and lightweight Drew Dober join Matt Serra and Jim Norton on today’s episode of UFC Unfiltered as the guys look ahead to this Saturday’s UFC Fight Night: Cannonier vs. Strickland card.

Looking to rebound from his title shot loss to former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya, Cannonier talks lessons learned from that loss as he previews his main event fight against Sean Strickland and discusses what he’d do if Sean started talking trash mid-fight.
