    Episode 17 - No They Didn't!

This week Dave Maier joins us as we wrap up season 2 of The Mandalorian with a full break down of Chapter 16 - The Rescue.  We dive deep into questions and theories like:

    • Why didn't they leave the bridge to go look for Mando?
    • Did any of us cry when a certain Jedi showed up?
    • Was his likeness an uncanny valley situation or did it work?
    • What will Mando do in Season 3?
    • How did Bib Fortuna take over Jabba's Palace?

All this and more, including Temeura Morrison's job security, the theory of Dark Baby Yoda and some of your emails in Maul's Bag.

Oh and we GIVE AWAY THE DARK SABER! Stay tuned to the end of the show for that and thanks to all who entered. We will have another giveaway soon.

The Mandalorian Season 2 Finale Predictions!

The Mandalorian Season 2 Finale Predictions!
The Season 2 finale of The Mandalorian is coming TOMORROW! After a wild ride across the galaxy, there are many questions still lingering: will Mando reject the Creed? How’s he going to get on Moff Gideon’s ship? Is there a Jedi coming to the rescue? Will we see Thrawn? And of course, what’s going to happen to Baby Yoda (Grogu)?

We’re going to do our best to answer these questions and more, right after we recap Chapter 15. And we’re joined by a very special guest this week (it's Samuel the Hutt's new girlfriend!)

    HOT TAKES
Our regular show’s HOT TAKES were derailed by the crazy Star Wars announcements that happened last week. That means we haven’t had the chance to talk about Chapter 15: The Believer. Cara is breaking out a prisoner. Mayfeld poses a theological question. And Mando rejects The Way. That’s all up next on Hot Takes!

Chapter 15 centers around Mando’s need to find out where Moff Gideon’s Imperial Cruiser is, so they can get busy rescuing Baby Yoda (Grogu). We learned at the close of Chapter 14, that Mando and Cara Dune are going to bust Mayfeld out of a New Republic Prison to make this happen. Were you a little worried about those first moments when Mando and Mayfeld are reunited?

When Mando, Boba, Fennec and Mayfeld get to Morak, there’s a fun exchange between the crew that takes place when they discover that the best way to get into the base with the terminal Mayfeld needs to access is to hijack an Imperial Juggernaut transporting rydonium. It’s a two man job, but not everyone is capable of passing through the required ISB scans. There’s a lot of foreshadowing of what will happen at the end of the episode.

Mayfeld and Mando have a really heavy conversation while on the Juggernaut. Mayfeld calls Mando’s devotion to “The Way” when he asks Mando if he can’t remove his helmet, or if he can’t show his face.

We’re going to talk more about the mask/face situation in a moment, but let's look at the drink share between Mando and Mayfeld, and Valin Hess - the Imperial officer who Mayfeld served under during Operation: Cinder. For those who may not know what that is, take a second to explain it.

It was hinted at throughout the entire episode - Mando is faced with a critical choice: follow “The Way” and fail in his mission to discover where Baby Yoda (Grogu) is, or violate his creed and show his face. What were you thinking when Mando took his bucket off?

The Geeks' Watch 200: The Mandalorian S2xE3-5

"The future comes, and now my watch begins. It shall not end until my death. I shall miss no game, withhold no news, report all rumors. I shall wear no jerseys and plead allegiance to no side. I shall live and die on my webpage. I am the word in the darkness. I am the watcher of the tv. I am the megaphone that informs the realms of geek. I pledge my hands and name to the Geek's Watch, for geeks and all the geeks to come."

The Watchers: John, Jess, Mitch, Stephen and Elizabeth talk about the their weeks watch, and then dive into Disney+'s 'The Mandalorian' season 2, episode 3 'The Heiress', episode 4 "The Siege". and episode 5 "The Jedi".

The Dynamic Droids of Star Wars: Chopper
This show was ORIGINALLY slated to be recorded last Thursday, and released on Friday morning. That didn’t happen. Why, you ask? That’s because of an incident that will forever be known within the family as “The Alternator Story.” Dad will BREAK (hint hint) it down for you at the top of the show.

After all of that, we’re diving into the last two episodes of The Mandalorian, Sam and I will give our initial reviews of Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge, and we’ll share our favorite moments from that stubborn but lovable droid from Star Wars: Rebels, Chopper!

    Episode 12 - Mando isn't a strong swimmer

This week we break down Chapter 11 - The Heiress from season 2 of The Mandalorian.  We dive deep into questions and theories like:

    • Was this the best episode of the entire series?
    • Why is Mando intermittent fasting?
    • Why were the imperials so hesitant to break the harbor rules while under attack?
    • Has Mando been duped all along with the 'you can't take off your helmet' rule?

All this and more, including George Lucas' vision for the sequel trilogy, Leslye Headland's plans for her new series and Ron Howard's speculation about Solo characters returning someday.

As we count down the days to season 2 of The Mandalorian, we discuss some of the recent promotional material and speculate about what we might see in the next and final trailer for the show.

Disney+ appears to be headed for a TON of content in the coming years and this week we've heard news and rumors about everything from Kenobi to Cassian Andor to a potential Cara Dune series.

There are a number of new books coming out this fall so we discuss three titles that we're going to order and read soon in our never-ending quest to obtain more Star Wars knowledge.

Don't miss out on the upcoming podcasting event on October 24 - 'Podtoberfest'!  This is the sixth year for this collaboration of indie podcasters who come together and put on an all-day show covering a wide variety of topics. Learning To Stand On Your Own Like Rey Skywalker

Learning To Stand On Your Own Like Rey Skywalker
Very little has divided Star Wars fandom over the past 5 years more than the question of who Rey’s parents were... 😱

"The Force Awakens" gave us no answers at all... 😤

"The Last Jedi" told us she was nobody... 😳

And "The Rise of Skywalker" had us go from nobody, to Palpatine’s granddaughter, to her assuming the mantle of Skywalker. (No wonder people called watching that film "a rollercoaster!!" 🤪)

But in the end, the story of Rey Skywalker is one of learning that your lineage matters much less than who you CHOOSE to become. (Even if you choose to take the name of someone else! 😬)

We talk about that on this week's show, PLUS:

Who's idea was it to cover Carl Weather's handsome face with prosthetics, and make Greef Karga an ALIEN in "The Mandalorian?" 👽
    (https://www.farfarawaynews.com/…/greef-karga-was-originall…/

The cast of Season 2 of "The Mandalorian" is going to need a 50 passenger bus to get to the set! 🚍Which begs the question: Are there TOO MANY new characters coming to Season 2? 🤯
    https://www.farfarawaynews.com/…/katee-sackhoff-to-play-bo…/
    https://www.farfarawaynews.com/…/timothy-olyphant-cast-in-…/

What would it be like for the guy with the coolest lightsaber in Star Wars (we're talking about the Grand Inquisitor, of course) to come into LIVE ACTION? 😁
