    Wellness and The Bee Sting

    Wellness and The Bee Sting

I dive into two very long books that are also worth the investment. The Bee Sting by Paul Murray tells the story of a contemporary Irish family that has fallen on hard times and is full of secrets. Contemporary family saga Wellness by Nathan Hill is set in the suburbs of Chicago an explores the malaise of middle age marriage. It is also a send up on our preoccupation with the wellness industry. Both books have deep character backstories and are considered tragicomic novels.

    Books and resources discussed:

    One Day (2024), Netflix
    Millionaire Matchmaker, Netflix
The Bee Sting by Paul Murray
    Wellness by Nathan Hill

    White Coat Reads Rating Review

    White Coat Reads Rating Review

5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: THIS BOOK IS A MASTERPIECE

This is a book that left me in awe, the intricate characters, spectacular setting, and lyrical prose will stay with me for years to come. A must-read, I wholeheartedly suggest this literary masterpiece to everyone I know.

    2. 4.5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: THIS BOOK IS A DYNAMITE READ

This book lit up my reading life with its characterization and plot! I'm more than happy to recommend it! The pacing of the book was great, the characters were dynamic, and the story is one I won't soon forget.

    3. 4 STARS OUT OF FIVE: THIS BOOK IS A LOVELY READ

This book is truly marvelous. Splendidly engaging, I found myself captivated by its pages from the very first chapter. I wholeheartedly recommend reading it to everyone.

    4. 3.5 STARS OUT OF FIVE: THIS BOOK IS AN ENJOYABLE READ

This book was a real treat! While there were a couple of minor details that I didn't quite vibe with, it was otherwise an enjoyable read that kept me hooked until the very end. For fans of the author or the genre, this is a must-have. Highly recommend!

    5. 3 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: THIS BOOK IS A GOOD READ

This book was a good read. However, I wasn’t exactly blown away either. While there were moments that I enjoyed, the overall experience was hampered by certain elements of the story. This book could have used more attention to detail and a better sense of direction in order to elevate my opinion of it.

    6. 2.5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: THIS BOOK IS A MEDIOCRE READ

My opinion of this book is mediocre, it was a difficult read and frankly, I wouldn't recommend it to many people, there were many aspects to this book that I found unappealing.

    7. 2/5 STARS: THIS BOOK IS A CHALLENGING READ

My journey with this book was a trying one. It failed to capture my attention and the writing style left much to be desired.

    8. 1/5 STARS: THIS BOOK WAS NOT ENJOYABLE TO READ

A rating of 1 STAR just isn't enough to capture how much I detested this book. It's a completely lost cause and it put me through an arduous experience that I would never wish upon anyone. For the sake of my own sanity, I suggest avoiding this book at all costs.

    9. 0/5 STARS: ABRUPTLY DISCONTINUED - THE BOOK WAS NOT FINISHED

A rating of 0 stars for a book is rather embarrassing, the book was just the point of no return, and honestly, I hope that I never have to give a book review for that low of a rating.
