Waka waka eh eh? The game was probably second to the occasion as Forest's army of travelling fans supported the team to an away point. Having scored Forest's first Premier League goal this season, Taiwo Awoniyi also got the last, hitting double figures in his debut Premier League campaign. However, Will Hughes' header deflected off Willy Boly to earn the hosts a point, which meant that everyone was probably happy enough. Rich Ferraro is joined by Tom and Adam, both fresh back from a long day in the capital, to reflect upon the trip to Selhurst Park and the sense of occasion as the Reds' fans celebrated survival and the players and staff joined in, including Mr Marinakis. A tense and battling performance earned the Reds a point, but for a while it felt like it could have been more. A header in each half from Taiwo Awoniyi put Forest in the lead, then pulled them back into contention, either side of Raheem Sterling's (preventable) brace. A late equaliser from Daniel Podence made a good performance feel like a disappointing result, as Forest failed to capitalise on their chances and take all the points. Brennan Johnson's first half goal gave the Reds the advantage, but it could have been more, especially when Emmanuel Dennis failed to square to Morgan Gibbs-White in the second half. A stoppage-time penalty from Alexander Isak saw the Reds fall to their first home defeat since October, and record consecutive Premier League defeats. Emmanuel Dennis had given Forest the lead with an expert finish before Isak scored his first at the end of the first half. There was also time for another curious VAR call in the home team's favour, before Moussa Niakhaté's mistake gave Isak his chance to seal the win. Forest ground out a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Leeds United in this relegation six-pointer. The result was due in no small part to the heroics of debutant keeper Keylor Navas, and a formation and tactical change at half-time by Stevie Cooper. Forest were comprehensively beaten in the end by a Manchester United team who took an early lead through Marcus Rashford, before goals at the end of each half by Weghorst and Fernandes sealed the deal. However, the Reds did have a really good spell in the first half, and it could have been so different if Sam Surridge's equaliser had stood when Forest were 1-0 down; as it was, VAR ruled that the striker's shoelace was offside. A late goal by sub Sam Surridge earned the Reds a share of the spoils away at Bournemouth. The hosts had taken a first half lead and although the Reds had a good number of efforts on goal, Ryan Yates' first half header was ruled out for an offside. Even when Surridge did equalise, VAR had to check for offside, but the former Bournemouth man's goal stood. A dramatic night at the City Ground saw tempers flare, especially at the end after Forest won a penalty shootout to progress to the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup. Wolves will argue that they were marginally the better team in normal time, forcing a number of saves from Dean Henderson and having a penalty claim that falls into the "seen them given" category. It felt a little bleak when Forest managed to concede yet another soft goal in the first half, but they came out fighting after the break to really take the game to Chelsea; Morgan Gibbs-White was unlucky with a 20 yard thunderbolt, and the number 10's corner caused havoc in the box, and Serge Aurier took advantage to score his first goal for the club. In the end, Forest were disappointed not to get the win which would have elevated them out of the drop zone. It was a comfortable victory for the home team as Forest huffed and puffed, but provided very little threat to the Manchester United goal. First half efforts in quick succession from Marcus Rashford and Antony Martial effectively killed the game, although things could have been different if one of Ryan Yates' efforts had crept in; the first was saved, and the second snuck in off the leg of Willy Boly, who was in an offside position. Steve Cooper could not hide his emotions as Forest crumbled in the second half to lose by five goals to league leaders Arsenal. The Head Coach was understandably annoyed that, having mostly followed the game plan in the first half, his players threw it out of the window with a lack of the basics - hard work and application. Not one for the neutrals, this game saw Forest finish with an XG of 0.13, as the hosts' inability in front of goal, coupled with some resolute defensive play from the Reds, saw Forest leave the Amex with a hard-fought point. In truth, Dean Henderson only had to make one or two decent saves, and Leandro Trossard's effort hit the bar, so Roberto de Zerbi's men really should have made more of their territorial advantage. Is it too early for this to count as a six-pointer? It was the first chance for Reds fans to show their appreciation to Stevie Cooper since he signed his new contract, and the players alos showed their love for the gaffer with a much improved performance. Villa have problems of their own, but aside from Ashley Young's rocket, rarely posed any real threat.
