As Hanukkah ends and we begin the joys of Christmas, one of the country’s most respected theologians, Rabbi David Wolpe, takes readers of all denominations on a journey to the origins of faith and the role it plays in modern times. Our conversation about his book “Why Faith Matters” is an uplifting message in these difficult times.

Sandra Tsing Loh’s new play “Madwomen of the West” premiered this week and begins its New York run December 11th.  It stars Marilu Henner, JoBeth Williams, Melanie Mayron and Caroline Aaron. I was privileged to have Sandra on my show awhile back with her book, “Madwoman in the Volvo.”

When I heard the news about Suzanne Somers passing this weekend I was at a loss for words. I had the privilege of producing 5 shows with Suzanne when I took over a late-night series for ABC television. Not only was I stunned by the true talent she possessed, but her brilliance and kindness was a delight to be around. She and her husband Alan made the week of shows pure joy for all. Then, several years later I was again blessed to have her on Between the Lines. As always, she impressed the entire staff with her joyous disposition and kindness to all.  Thank you, dearest Suzanne, for providing us with so much joy in everything you did.

Today we are at a crossroads when it comes to meeting our challenges as a nation and as individuals. However, if we learn the lessons of Sir Winston Churchill, the great statesman left us timeless wisdom. My conversation with Professor Larry Arnn, President of Hillsdale College about his book, “Churchill’s Trial,” is a guide to shaping ourselves and the current situation dividing us all.

The term “Gonzo Journalism” was coined due to the exploits and writings of the legendary Hunter S. Thompson. His fierce prose was often overshadowed by his one-of-a-kind lifestyle.
