Don't be Blue... it's time for Pokemon Red!

Don't be Blue... it's time for Pokemon Red!

Better late than never, here's episode 12 of the Bucket List Gamers Podcast, this time looking at number 58 on the list; Pokemon Red and Blue.

Red and Blue kick-started a franchise that has gone on to become an absolute juggernaut, but is the love warranted or is it a surprise that something so enduring could come from such humble beginnings?

We delve into the the concept of putting 'one game across two cartridges', the introduction of a third version and even go through the laborious task of putting all 151 Gen 1 Pokemon into a Tier List (sorry about that!)

    Enjoy!

    Shuffling off this Portal Coil

    Shuffling off this Portal Coil

This week Eddie and Jay take a look at a whopping FOUR games!

Originally planned to be a Portal 1 (61) and Portal 2 (96) Special, it quickly became apparent that there wasn't an hours worth of content, so like all professional athletes we called an audible and threw Sensible Soccer (51) and Sensible World of Soccer (44) into the mix too!

What ties these four games together I hear you ask? Well, it's the complete indifference one half of the BLG team has toward them respectively.

As a little Kings Coronation Bank Holiday treat, we've even thrown in a rant about quite possibly the worst football game ever made, and the added danger that we may well get sued over it...

We’re Going to Fallout Over These Two

We’re Going to Fallout Over These Two

On this week's episode of Bucket List Gamers Jay and Eddie talk about Elder Scrolls: Oblivion (73) and Fallout 3 (29), two absolutely quintessential glitchy Bethesda games!

Do you prefer the more typical 'Sword and Shield' type RPG set in Cyrodiil, or are you more of a wasteland wanderer, taking on Super Mutants and Deathclaws in the Capital Wasteland? Whatever your preference, it's likely there are a few bugs and glitches to keep you company.

Be warned adventurer, there are a few spoilers within!

This episode could have easily been 2 hours long, but unfortunately we took an arrow to the knee...

    Enjoy!

It’s-a Me... Super Mario 3D Special!

It’s-a Me... Super Mario 3D Special!

On this week's episode of Bucket List Gamers Jay and Eddie discuss the THREE 3D Super Mario games that have made it onto the Bucket List; Super Mario Galaxy (42), Super Mario Galaxy 2 (82) and Super Mario 64 (5)!

Is Super Mario Galaxy 2 just a copy of Super Mario Galaxy 1? Is Super Mario 64 still playable in 2023? Is it one of the best games of all time? Was it a good idea to try and talk about three of the biggest Mario games ever in an hour?

Find out the answers to these questions and a whole lot more in this extra long episode!

Oh, and there aren't any spoilers! Hurray!

ICO-uldn’t Believe He Didn’t Like Shadow of the Colossus

In this week's Bucket List Gamers podcast Jay and Eddie look at Ico (91) and Shadow of the Colossus (53) from Team Ico, as well as the their third game The Last Guardian.

It's safe to say one of these games splits opinion between the BLG team! Also please be warned there are some fairly heavy spoilers for Shadow of the Colossus, so listen at your own risk (but please do listen!)

Samus, Simon, Alucard... Oh My! MetroidVania Special!

Samus, Simon, Alucard... Oh My! MetroidVania Special!

In this week's Bucket List Gamers podcast Jay and Eddie look at THREE titles that fall into the Metroidvania category; Super Castlevania IV (94), Castlevania Symphony of the Night (27) and Super Metroid (23).

We also discuss the controversy arising around Resident Evil 4 Remake, and lament the loss of instruction manuals in games.

No spoilers this week! Unless you didn't know Samus from Metroid was a woman, in which case you do now so no reason not to listen!

The One Where Leon S. Kennedy Goes to Spain... Resident Evil 4!

The One Where Leon S. Kennedy Goes to Spain... Resident Evil 4!

In this week's Bucket List Gamers Podcast Eddie and Jay tangle with Las Plagas, discussing both the original Resident Evil 4 (9), the Resident Evil 4 Remake which released last week and the 'Capcom 5's exclusivity deal with Nintendo.

Fair warning, there be slight spoilers ahead, although nothing particularly spoiler-y like you may have heard in last week's Bioshock episode!

Once again apologies for the slightly out audio levels, we have new microphones to try next week that should (hopefully) address the issue!

    A Bioshock to the System

    A Bioshock to the System

On this week's episode of Bucket List Gamers Eddie and Jay descend below the deep, blue sea and emerge in the dystopian utopia of Rapture!

While there they will be discussing 2007's Bioshock (57), the sequels and the potential movie that is in the works from Netflix.

Yes the terrible sound effect was to cover an audio glitch, and yes, those of you with ears like a hawk will be able to hear a rather rude pigeon interrupt proceedings at one point.

It wouldn't be an episode of Bucket List Gamers without some sort of audio issue at this point, and who are we to deny the people what they have come to expect?

In this episode Jay and Eddie discuss Mass Effect 2, which is at number 60 on the list of 100 Games to play before you die.

We couldn't discuss the second game without touching on the first, and the absolute disaster that is the ending of Mass Effect 3.

So climb aboard the Normandy with us and explore BioWare's Galaxy-traversing Space Opera!

Majora’s Mask; A Terrible Fate or a Roaring Success?

Majora’s Mask; A Terrible Fate or a Roaring Success?

In this episode Jay and Eddie discuss Eddie's favourite game of all time, ‘Number 69’ on the list; The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask!

The land of Termina is in peril, with the Moon looming ominously in the sky. What makes Majora's Mask such a polarising game, how is it different to the critically acclaimed Ocarina of Time, and is it misunderstood?

We also discuss Atomic Heart and our plans for future episodes.

Note: We improved the audio this week, but we still had a few issues when we came to edit it, so apologies for the levels and some clipping, we'll get it right soon, we promise!

If you'd like to check out 'Terrible Fate' by Ember Lab which we talk about briefly in this week's episode, you can find it here on YouTube: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vbMQfaG6lo8
