    Brandon Puffer, a former pitching grinder in baseball from California experienced a life in baseball up and down in the minor leagues to the big show.

    In 2008, his career ended and was incarcerated into a state penitentiary for a felony crime while playing for the AA Frisco Roughriders.

    During Puffer's time behind bars, he became a new person through faith and found a new purpose.

    Since 2011, Puffer's baseball family helped him start a new life. He found love, heart break, and disappointment.

    He remained focused on what he can control and accepting only what fit his new life. A life which included baseball as a coach and inspiration.

    Through his faith, Puffer used his platform to being transparent about his story.

    In 2019, Puffer set a goal to write a book called: From the Bullpen to the State Pen.

    Fast forward to late 2022, goal achieved.

    139. Building Better Catchers with Craig Albernaz

    Today's guest signed with the Tampa Bay Rays as a free agent in 2006. For 7 years he was a catcher in the Rays organization through as high as triple-A. He played his final season in 2014 with the Detroit Tigers organization, where he then retired to pursue his coaching career. After various different coaching positions over the years,  in 2019 he was brought on by the San Francisco Giants as their bullpen and catching coach, which is where he is currently working at the time of this recording.
