    Episode 13: Raining Dirt

When the Twin Towers fell on 9-11, Patrick Gordon knew his calling was to join the military and "do his part." As a result, he served with the Lord Strathcona's armoured regiment for three tours in Afghanistan, which included several terrifying & traumatic experiences under fire while in a tank. Upon retirement, diagnosed with PTSD and physical injuries, Patrick commenced a plan to combat the hunger experienced by a disturbingly high number of school children in Saint John, New Brunswick.

Dr. Meghan Fitzpatrick and Dr. Dominique Laferrière are social scientists at Defence Research and Development Canada and have done extensive research on the topic. They explain the disinformation ecosystem that affects the military community and give us advice on how to separate fact from fiction.

In getting the help that he needed he wants to be an example to others, leading the way by showing that it's not weak to talk about the issues that plague us as human beings and that seeking help is a sign of strength. He believes that we owe it to the people who couldn't make it back, to find that mental resilience and continue to move forward to find a healthy balance to living.
