The Buff presents: Emails, arguments and failing to test Tickle

AFTER a week of woe, we decided to offer up this week's podcast to you - the dear listener - to air your concerns and grievances.

Loads of you contacted us with your views on the defeats at Blackpool and Wigan Athletic, so Marc and Henry have picked through the best of the emails to bring you a good old postbag special.

Spoiler alert: It isn't a happy clappy affair.

We rake over the details of the DW and Bloomfield Road, neither of which was a derby despite last week's podcast title (wink).

And we look ahead to two more big games, at home to Cambridge United and away at Barnsley, in a trip which already has a fate-defining air about it.

By the boot of Carlos Mendes Goal-mes... it's a Lancashire Derby Buff!

By the boot of Carlos Mendes Goal-mes... it's a Lancashire Derby Buff!

IT'S a crucial week in Wanderers' promotion push with two big local trips to Blackpool and Wigan Athletic.

Ian Evatt's side got themselves motoring again with a gutsy win at Cambridge United and showed some character to twice come from a goal down to grab a point against Charlton Athletic.

Marc Iles and Henry Hewitt review the week's headlines from The Bolton News, including a good look at the players coming back into the fore, like George Thomason and Ricardo Santos.

We examine what make Josh Sheehan so great, and why other people seem to want to kick him.

And if there has been a better strike at the Abbey Stadium this millennium than the one Carlos Mendes Goal-mes got on Tuesday night, we want to hear from you.

We read out your emails on complaining supporters and whether you can legally watch Wanderers TV in the pub.

And Who Are You is back, with the letter P. Bolton Coroners Office is standing by.

The Buff presents: Red cards, referees and first minute reducers

The Buff presents: Red cards, referees and first minute reducers

IT has been another newsy week at Bolton Wanderers - so Marc Iles and Henry Hewitt are here again to take you through al the headlines from The Bolton News.

Red cards for George Thomason and manager Ian Evatt at Northampton Town set tongues wagging and prompted many of you to email our postbag, We take a good look at the debate in a special headlines section.

Wanderers drew at Northampton thanks to Carlos Mendes Gomes's header, so we discuss how he fits into the Bolton jigsaw for the rest of the season. And the same can be said of one of Tuesday night's heroes against Wycombe, Jon Dadi Bodvarsson.

Who Are You is back with the letter 'O' - and we find out which former Wanderers player may (or may not) be driving a taxi cab in Ireland.

We also cast our eyes towards the upcoming games against Charlton Athletic and Cambridge United and hear a new tune from the Royton Liberace himself, Jack Dearden.

The Buff presents a Superb Owl spectacular

The Buff presents a Superb Owl spectacular

IT'S Superb Owl weekend, and so to celebrate our superlative feathered friends we bring a podcast dedicated to... No, not really. It's another hour of Bolton Wanderers headlines and gossip with Marc Iles and Henry Hewitt.

In what has been a whirlwind week with the Whites we look back at a 1-1 draw with Barnsley at the Toughsheet Stadium, Aaron Collins's impressive start, the launch of Zac Ashworth's Bolton career and a mad 15 minutes that had everyone hot under the collar.

Tuesday night's game at Cambridge United lasted a grand total of eight minutes, seven of which were spent splashing around in the mud. We ask if anything could have been done to save the fans' travelling and whether Ian Evatt will stick with the same players for this weekend's trip to Northampton Town.

The guys give their predictions, read out your emails, and get to the letter N on our popular feature, Who Are You?

University Challenge - Wanderers' Cambridge Exam

University Challenge - Wanderers' Cambridge Exam

WELCOME back to The Buff Podcast - your weekly spoonful of Bolton Wanderers headlines, opinion and gossip with Marc Iles and Henry Hewitt.

Strange things are afoot at BWFC and while the club rides high in sixth place in the table, there is no getting around the fact that performances have not been great.

Out of the FA Cup at the first round stage for the fourth year in a row there was some slight solace with the fact we don't have to play Crewe in round two.

But with Cambridge United to come this weekend, improvement is a must. On the agenda this week is how Ian Evatt goes about getting better performances out of his players, what formation best suits, and which players are in form anyhow.

Big stories of the week include the possible recall of Conor Bradley to Liverpool, Neil Hart's view that iFollow needs another discussion around the EFL and Elias Kachunga's contract prospects.

We open the mailbag to ask about the worst BWFC weather and a What If on Stuart Holden which might well bring a tear to the eye.

We speak to the author of the superb 'Who Put The Ball In The Munich Net', Chris Flanagan, on the 15th anniversary of Bolton's draw at Bayern Munich.

And we catch up with The Buff's Fantasy Football League, where Henry's team continues to plumb the depths.
