Basicswap participated in last years MoneroTopia and we hope to have them again this year in Argentina. In this episode they discuss the progress that has been made since presenting at MoneroTopia23, the latest functionality and the roadmap of the BasicSwap decentralized exchange (DEX). They provide an overview of the team, the atomic swap implementation that basic swap uses, user experience, and plans to improve accessibility. Key metrics about usage and liquidity are shared, as well as thoughts on driving adoption into the future. Special thanks to BasicSwap for being one of the first to build the decentralized bridges Monero needs to flourish, in-spite of the delistings from centralized exchanges. EP05 - AI comes to virtual production with Cuebric by Seyhan Lee + XR Studios

EP05 - AI comes to virtual production with Cuebric by Seyhan Lee + XR Studios

This episode of the podcast features a demonstration of Kubrick, a new product developed by the co-founders of Seyhan Lee, Pinar Demirdag and Gary Kepke. They are joined by Aaron Altmark, a producer at XR Studios, who serves as the launch partner for Kubrick.

Watch an exclusive demo of Cuebric on YouTube: https://youtu.be/cA3ZXywf8u0

The guests discuss the origins of Kubrick, which was developed as a tool to quickly create images with generative AI for virtual production. We also talk about the potential impact of AI on the future of content creation and its potential to disrupt the job market in film, games, and immersive media. Pinar Demirdag, co-founder of Seyhan Lee, emphasizes that it is more valuable and important to educate people about AI to overcome their fears and misconceptions than it is to compete with machines. She also shares her personal experience of discovering her own power as a human being and how being afraid is a choice. She encourages people to understand their uniquely human qualities as artists and to make the choice to continue working with traditional methods or to adapt new technologies. The conversation also touches on the possibility of using AI to optimize certain jobs, such as providing backgrounds for films, but also stresses that there will always be a place for handmade, complex work.

Gary Kepke, co-founder of Seyhan Lee, mentions that they are working on a "choking mechanism" to improve the silhouettes created by the tool, and that they have received feedback and input from XR Studios and Aaron Altmark in the development process. They also discuss the possibility of using Kubrick for pre-visualization and mock-ups in a remote setting, with the possibility of working on the tool on a laptop from home. The conversation also touches on the integration of AR and XR technologies, with Aaron Altmark, producer at XR Studios, discussing the standard pipeline for content creation in the XR industry and the time-intensive nature of the workflow.

Changes! - Is CGI The Future Of Anime? | Ep.34

Changes! - Is CGI The Future Of Anime? | Ep.34

“CGI is like fast food. You can get great fastfood but you can also get very bad fast food. Very much a hit and miss”. – Ed (Founder of Suuuper Anime podcast)

This question comes amid a lot of negativity from the anime community around CGI in AOT and CGI in general. Is the negativity, cynicism and apathy warranted? Or does CGI deserve a chance in anime?

    Discussion notes

    • What’s our thoughts on CGI in general? Yes or No!
    • Have you seen any anime with CGI?
    • Did CGI add anything to the anime?
    •  Is CGI the future of anime?
    • Is it anime, if it’s done in the style of CGI?
    • Could you watch a pure CGI anime series?

S01E09 - Will AI take my job?

S01E09 - Will AI take my job?

The robots are coming, and they're coming for our hard-earned jobs.  AI, in one form or another, has been around for a while; it's getting smarter, it's getting faster, and in the foreseeable future, we wager that it is only going to get better at doing what it's always done: help artists do better work in less time.  In this episode, we talk about the ways that we expect AI will (and will not) affect the face of the visualization industry.
