What if instead of expecting women to lead the same way, we let them take their seat at the table and do things their own way?
Women exhibit certain soft skills that are crucial to the success of a company, and research shows that their high level of collaboration and empowerment can be more beneficial than the old-school authoritative style. (May 9, 2021) Father Samuel Dubois relates the life story of Saint Maximilian Kolbe, a Catholic priest who freely chose to suffer death in place of a fellow prisoner in a concentration camp during World War II. "If we are to be like Christ," Father Dubois said, "we have to be willing to carry the cross: the cross of indifference, the cross of apathy, the cross of the cruelty of others, so that we may be made worthy of the Resurrection, so that we may be raised to glory -- but, most of all -- so that our joy may be in Jesus, and in Him it may be complete."
State Representative Jim Ellison is a long time friend to the Bonnell Foundation and it's founder, Laura Bonnell. Bonnell and Rep. Ellison met when she was a news reporter at WWJ and would call on Rep. Ellison for a comment, or she caught up with him on the road. Bonnell told Rep. Ellison about her Foundation, and the reason she started it was because her girls had the disease. Rep. Ellison (and his wife Jodie) were all in, right away. Each year Rep. Ellison introduces a resolution to make May CF Awareness month.
