Four Faces of Worship 3 - "Ox Face" | Rev Frank Hart | 3-3-24

Four Faces of Worship 3 - "Ox Face" | Rev Frank Hart | 3-3-24

In this message of "The Four Faces of Worship" series, we explore the Ox Face of the cherubim, symbolizing humble service and great sacrifice. We are reminded of Jesus' ultimate sacrifice, the suffering servant who gave everything for our salvation.

Philippians 2:5-9 encourages us to emulate Christ's humility and obedience, serving others as He served us. The sermon emphasizes the importance of working out our salvation in fear and trembling, not by trying to earn it, but by living out the faith and grace God has worked into our hearts by serving others.

We are called to be a royal priesthood, actively involved in ministry, and to give generously as part of our worship. The message concludes with a call to respond to Jesus' sacrifice with quiet strength, faithful obedience, and humble faith, continuing the worship beyond the church service into our daily lives.

Are You A Servant Or A Celebrity?

Are You A Servant Or A Celebrity?
The questions God's people need to ask in Christian service are: Did we obey the will of God? Were we empowered by the Spirit of God? Did we serve to the glory of God? If we can answer yes to these questions, then our ministry has been successful in God's eyes, no matter what people may think. It's doubtful that anybody ever does anything out of a purely unselfish motive; but with God's help, we can try!

    Dealing With The Hedgehogs

    Dealing With The Hedgehogs
What happens when the people with the needs don't want our help? How do we effectively deal with the protective barriers that some construct around their hearts? Is love the motivation for your ministry? What should you do when you encounter difficult people, circumstances, or situations? Do you quit or hang in during the tough times? Join us as we answer these questions and continue our exploration into "The Heart Of Christian Service."

Tuesday 32nd Week Ordinary Time Year B

In today gospel reading we are reminded of how to provide true "Christian Service". We ought to do it out of love irrespective of whether we receive praise or acknowledgement. Our primary motivation should be a duty of service. Our service must be fine out if love if others for we are just mere servants doing no more than our duty.

We pray for the grace to offer our service freely and with our whole heart out of love for our God and our neighbour. May we not seek a favourable reaction or praise but instead seek to find satisfaction in the very act of giving love alone.
