All Saints’ Day is a day to remember with thankfulness the lives of those who have gone before us in the faith, to share the loss of those whose loved ones have passed away, and to remember that we, too, are living saints because "Salvation belongs to our God." As surviving Saints, we live in God's forgiveness. We flee temptation. We worship together in God’s house. We find our comfort and hope in God’s Word. We interact with each other as Christ Jesus interacts with us.

The Catechism further unpacks the communion of saints and shows us how the Church lives in communion with those members who have passed on to eternal life with Christ in heaven.
